Deep Rest Meditation
by Wendy Jones
This somatic meditation is a slow invitation to put down the weight of the day and rest without having to earn it. Lying down, or in whatever position asks the least of you, you let your weight sink into the surface beneath you and soften your tongue, jaw, brow, eyes, shoulders, hands, belly and legs in turn. You picture cool water moving slowly from the crown of your head to your feet, then a fire raked down low for the night. Along the way you hear that rest is not something to be earned. If you are headed towards sleep, you can stay resting as the guidance ends. This content is educational and is not a substitute for one to one professional care. Please do not listen while driving.
