Welcome.
This is a semantic meditation.
To help release the nervous system.
That is exhausted from being strong.
Close your eyes if that feels safe for you.
And take one slow breath in.
And gently let it go.
Again.
Breathing in slowly.
And gently exhaling,
Letting it go.
Let your breath be natural.
There's no forced relaxation here.
Just arrive exactly as you are.
Even if that's tired.
Heavy overwhelmed.
NAM It's all welcome here.
You're holding it together the best that you can.
And you don't need to hide any of that right now.
Because maybe your nervous system is not anxious because you're weak.
Maybe it's exhausted.
From being strong for too long.
Strong for everyone else.
Strong through heartbreak.
Through uncertainty.
Caregiving.
Stress.
Strong through disappointment after disappointment.
And strong through days where you wanted to collapse.
But kept going anyway.
And eventually,
The body pays for that strength.
Not because you failed.
But because human beings were never meant to carry this much for this long without rest.
So before we do anything else today.
I want you to hear this clearly.
You are allowed to stop holding everything all at once.
At least for these next few moments.
You're allowed to soften.
Be supported.
And let your nervous system rest.
As you take another slow breath in.
And exhale with a gentle sigh.
Now,
Gently notice where your body is touching the surface beneath you.
Whether it's a chair holding you.
A bed beneath you.
On the floor under your feet.
Just notice that you're supported right now.
And you don't have to carry yourself completely alone in this moment.
Let the ground hold the weight.
Bringing awareness to your shoulders.
Notice if they're lifted.
Tight or braced.
As if your body is still preparing to carry more.
Slowly without forcing.
Allow them to drop slightly.
Now your jaw.
Soften it gently.
In your stomach.
Notice whether you're holding tension there too.
Many people carry survival in their stomach without even realizing it.
Bracing.
Protecting or preparing.
Your body has likely been anticipating stress for a long time.
So here we want to offer it something different.
Not pressure or urgency.
But permission to stop gripping so tightly.
Now breathe in slowly through your nose.
And exhale even slower through your mouth.
Let your exhale lengthen naturally.
As the nervous system responds deeply to slow exhales.
Long exhales communicate safety to the body.
They tell your system.
You do not need to fight right now.
Maybe your body has been fighting for years.
To stay composed.
Dependable.
Functional.
Fighting to keep everyone else okay.
Maybe you became the strong one because you had to.
When no one else stepped in.
Life demanded it.
That's what survival asks.
And while people may have praised your strength,
They may not have noticed the cost.
The exhaustion.
Loneliness.
The emotional weight of always being the one who keeps going.
So today,
You're not here to prove your strength.
You have survived enough.
And now you can quietly repeat to yourself.
I do not need to carry everything alone.
Again.
I do not need.
To carry everything alone.
Notice if your body resists those words.
Sometimes the nervous system becomes so used to over-functioning that rest feels uncomfortable.
Stillness feels unsafe.
And receiving support feels unfamiliar.
Your body learns survival through responsibility.
Vigilance,
And staying alert.
But healing often begins.
When we slowly teach the nervous system.
You are allowed to put some of this down now.
Now imagine.
Setting down a heavy bag you have been carrying for years.
Not permanently,
But just for this moment.
Feel the relief of not gripping it so tightly.
And the space that opens in the body.
When you stop carrying everything.
Now.
Bring one hand over your heart.
And feel the warmth of your hand.
Feel the pressure against your chest.
Notice your heartbeat beneath it.
Your heart has continued beating.
Through every difficult season.
Every stressful night.
Or moment you thought you couldn't keep going.
Your body has stayed with you through all of it.
Even when you're exhausted or emotionally depleted.
Or quietly falling apart inside.
Your body kept trying.
And there is something deeply human about that.
Take another slow breath in.
And exhale softly.
You don't need to earn rest.
You don't need to completely break down.
Before you're allowed to pause.
And you definitely don't need to reach.
Total burnout.
Before your pain becomes valid.
Rest is not weakness.
Softness is not failure.
And needing support is not something to be ashamed of.
Your nervous system was never designed to operate.
In constant stress without consequences.
And maybe lately your body has been trying to get your attention.
With the exhaustion.
Numbness.
Irritability.
Brain fog.
Emotional overwhelm.
These are not signs that you're lazy or failing.
Often,
They're signs that your system has been carrying too much for too long.
So instead of criticizing your body,
You're listening to it.
What if you're exhaustion?
Deserves compassion instead of judgment.
Now imagine breathing warmth into the most tired part of yourself.
Maybe it's your chest,
Stomach.
Shoulders.
Your mind.
Through your heart.
Just breathe gentle awareness into that space.
With no fixing or forcing.
Just acknowledging that this part has been working very hard.
And silently repeat to yourself.
Am allowed to rest.
Before I completely fall apart.
Again.
I am allowed to rest.
Before I completely fall apart.
But those words settle into your nervous system slowly.
The body learns through repetition.
Experience.
And moments of safety and permission.
Maybe permission is exactly what your nervous system has been missing.
You have permission to not have all the answers.
Or to be endlessly available.
You have permission to stop carrying everything at once.
And permission to not hold the emotional weight of everyone around you.
You are human.
Not a machine with endless resource.
Your nervous system isn't designed to absorb stress forever without care.
Now imagine your muscles softening one by one.
Your forehead.
Ciao.
Neck.
Shoulders.
Chest.
Hands.
Legs.
Your entire body.
Slowly receiving the message.
That you can rest now.
And if your body only softens 1%.
It matters.
Healing is often quiet.
Subtle and gradual.
A nervous system that's been braced for many years may not trust safety immediately,
And that's okay.
You're not behind.
Or doing anything wrong.
You're simply learning how to stop surviving.
Every second of the day.
Now notice your breathing again.
Perhaps it's slower and softer.
Your body responds to gentleness more than punishment.
Safety more than pressure.
And this is why self-compassion matters.
Not just psychologically,
But biologically.
The nervous system heals through experiences of support.
Moments where nothing is demanded.
And where you stop attacking yourself long enough.
To breathe.
Now imagine yourself being held emotionally.
Not judged.
Or rushed.
Just held.
By life.
And the unconditional force of love.
That's greater than you.
You don't need to carry every burden alone anymore.
There is support available to you.
Even if your nervous system has forgotten how to receive it.
Maybe strength is not always about pushing harder.
Maybe real strength is learning when to soften.
Or ask for help.
Learning when to pause.
And learning when to stop abandoning yourself in order to keep functioning.
Now take one deeper breath in.
And exhale slowly.
Feel the ground beneath you again.
Steady.
Supportive and present.
You are here.
And for this moment.
Nothing else is required of you.
You're here breathing.
And resting.
Just allowing your nervous system.
To experience a moment where it doesn't have to carry the weight of the world.
Now,
Quietly repeat to yourself.
I can stop holding everything all at once.
One more time.
I can stop holding everything,
All at once.
I deserve rest too.
Let your body absorb that.
It's the truth.
Take one final slow breath in.
And gently exhale.
And as this meditation.
Comes to a close,
Remember this.
Your exhaustion is not evidence that you're failing.
It may simply be evidence.
That you have been strong for too long.
Without enough support.
And little by little.
Breath by breath.
And moment by moment.
You can begin putting some of that weight down.
You don't have to carry it all alone anymore.
Thank you so much for joining me here today.
And giving yourself this time.
To receive support.
Namaste.
