Gate Gate

This chant is inspired by the Heart Sutra and the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. The melody and words came to me while I was moving to Alentejo, Portugal, during a time when I was experiencing long periods of silence and solitude.

For many years, I shared it in singing circles. It wasn't until twelve years later that it finally felt ready to be recorded in the way I had always imagined.

I'm deeply grateful to the wonderful musician Konstantin Tumanov, who created the beautiful keyboard arrangements and helped to mix the recording, and to my daughter Alyona and her friend Omkara (Insight Timer teacher), whose voices joined mine and brought this piece to life.

May this chant offer a space of stillness, openness, and peace.
