Today's meditation is a five-minute practice where we will explore a tool to instantly brighten your mood.
The Leo Full Moon brings us playfulness,
Enjoyment,
And the vibe of not taking everything too seriously.
So there are many things that we can do to improve our mood and our health such as meditating,
Exercising,
Eating nourishing foods,
Drinking plenty of water,
And surrounding ourselves with nurturing relationships.
There's also one simple thing that we can do that requires little effort.
It's completely free and it allows us to reap the benefits from it.
So find a comfortable seat either on a chair or maybe on a cushion on the floor.
Let your hands rest in your lap if that feels comfortable or on your thighs or knees,
Palms facing down.
And allow the corners of your mouth to gently move upwards.
And notice how this action makes you feel.
For most people,
Even if you don't feel like smiling,
Just initiating the muscles involved in smiling might help you find some peace.
So allow the corners of your mouth to gently lift once again and take some rounds of breath here.
Watch the rise and fall of your breath.
See where in your body it rises and falls.
Whether it's your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest,
Or all three.
And give yourself a moment to just land here.
Notice the rhythm of your breath.
And notice how it moves.
Start to bring awareness back to your body.
Maybe wiggling your fingers,
Maybe rolling your neck around,
Taking a deep breath in,
And exhale it out.
When you're ready,
Slowly blink your eyes open,
And again,
Maybe invite the corners of your mouth to lift.
