This meditation is for the soon-to-be mama,
You who are growing a baby in your womb,
Embarking on this life-shifting journey,
One in which your body changes daily.
You may feel rooted,
Connected,
And peaceful in your transitions,
Or you may feel dizzy with the change,
Your body and mind unknown to you.
The emotional part of pregnancy is taxing,
Likened to going through puberty,
And expectant mother rides endless waves of emotion,
Seemingly out of her own control,
Vast in their range.
Anxiety,
Joy,
Worry,
Panic,
Elation,
Love,
And doubt.
Now,
More than ever,
It is important for you to pause and tune in.
Now,
More than ever,
It's vital that you seize the quiet moments,
For you,
For your baby.
Make yourself as comfortable as you can.
Perhaps you find this comfort lying in bed,
Seated or nested in pillows.
There is no right way to settle here.
Holding this new life inside you can make stillness challenging,
So give yourself permission to move when you need to.
I invite you to close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths here.
Let the air fill your lungs and invite a full body release with your exhale.
Notice any achy spots,
The spots that feel a little stuck.
Try to send your breath there,
But if it doesn't quite reach yet,
That's okay.
Just keep breathing.
I invite you to place your palms on your belly now.
Perhaps there hasn't been much physical change yet,
Or perhaps your belly is not in a good condition yet.
Just keep breathing.
Feel the weight and warmth of your palms.
Continue to breathe and visualize this breath sending energy through your limbs,
Through your palms and deep into your womb.
Pause to tap into the life that grows within you.
Breathe.
Let this feeling wash over you.
Let yourself feel whatever this brings up.
And continue to breathe.
Linger here,
Palms to belly,
Palms to baby.
Send whatever you wish to send to your baby right now.
You can keep your palms where they are or gently let them rest.
I'm going to walk you through a series of affirmations.
You can choose to just listen or repeat it silently in your mind.
No need to get caught up in any thoughts about the affirmations.
Just let them pass through you.
My body is a safe and healthy place for my growing baby.
I am doing a wonderful job nourishing myself and my baby.
I trust in my body's ability to grow this new life.
My body knows when to give birth and will let go of the burden of the burden of the baby.
I trust that I can grow this new life.
My body knows when to give birth and will do so in its own time.
Birth is safe for me and my baby.
I am a good mother.
I am enough for my baby.
I trust my instincts and listen to my inner voice to guide me.
My baby and I are connected.
My pregnant body is beautiful.
I surrender to this process and am in awe of myself.
I surrender to this process and am in awe of myself.
Take a deep inhale here.
Linger in your exhale.
Notice any changes in your body,
In your mind.
Perhaps you feel them deeply.
Perhaps nothing has shifted.
Just be here.
As you continue to breathe,
Invite some gentle movement into your body.
Slowly.
Or perhaps you would like to continue to rest.
Maybe even take a nap.
Do what's best for you.
If you do choose to get up,
Please do slowly.
May these affirmations stay with you as you carry on with your day.
You are not alone in your pregnancy.
So much of what you feel is normal.
You are doing an incredible job of creating a safe and healthy space for your little baby.
And they love you so much already.
Wishing you well,
Mama.
