Welcome Being able to hold ourselves in love is one of the keys to growth and healing.
In a disconnected world that often teaches us to feel shame,
Hatred,
Self-loathing and guilt,
Love truly is the path to freedom.
No matter what the circumstance,
It is within our power to choose self-compassion,
To learn from our experiences and to take responsibility for our lives.
I now invite you to find a comfortable spot to sit or lay your body down.
If you are pregnant,
Using any cushions to prop yourself up or perhaps lying on your left side on a soft surface.
If it's a nice day and accessible for you,
I'd encourage you to lay out on the grass.
Taking a few moments now to adjust your body,
Your clothes and settle into a position that feels best for you.
Letting the shoulders drop away from the ears,
Unclenching the jaw,
Releasing the muscles between the eyebrows and allowing the eyes to close and fall heavy in their sockets.
Spending a few moments here in this quiet place,
Just honouring yourself for carving out the time to be here in service of your growth and healing.
Perhaps even giving yourself a hug or placing both hands over your heart.
And now silently repeating after me,
I deserve this time and space.
All parts of me are welcome here.
I love all parts of me,
Even when it feels hard to do so.
I do not need to change anything about myself to be lovable.
Love exists within me at all times and it is there for the choosing.
If it felt hard to repeat any of those phrases or untrue,
I invite you now to send love to that part of you as well.
The part that didn't believe those words.
And remembering it is in these small micro moments where we choose to be loving that we create change.
Taking a long slow breath in through the nose now.
With a gentle long release out of the mouth.
Deep breath.
Once again,
Nice long slow breath down into the belly.
And gentle release out of the mouth.
Letting go.
Just letting your breath find a natural rhythm now.
Gently breathing down into the belly with no effort at all.
Letting a softness wash over you with this gentle breath.
Not forcing anything,
Just letting the breath rhythmically move in and out.
Quietly breathing,
Relaxing further.
Bringing your awareness now to your heart center.
Feeling the energy of this space.
And now directing your breath right into your heart.
Keeping it soft and subtle.
Perhaps you can feel the ribcage expand just a little more now.
You feel your heart reaching towards the sky with each inhale.
And on the exhale,
You feel the back of your ribcage just pressing into the ground.
Inhale,
Letting that ribcage expand.
And then exhale,
Letting go of any stagnant,
Dense energy that may be residing there.
Inhale,
Drawing in more light,
Love,
Fullness.
And exhale,
Letting go.
Continuing to breathe like this on your own for a little while longer.
Now with your next inhale,
I invite you to deepen the breath slightly.
Letting the inhales really fill your body.
Filling it with love,
Light,
Sweetness,
Aliveness.
And with the exhales,
Releasing,
Softening,
Purging and expelling anything dense,
Painful and non-loving.
Just moving with your own breath.
Letting that warm,
Gooey love fill every cell.
Feeling the vibration from the tips of your toes to the crown of your head.
Expanding that love throughout your entire being.
Perhaps you can feel the immense power and fullness of this love energy.
The never-ending stream from your heart through your entire body now.
Perhaps there's a place in your body that feels more tense or tight.
Can you direct this loving energy there?
Soften into that area.
Using this love as a massage to anything tense,
Stagnant or dense.
Connecting back in with your heart space.
Can you imagine now your heart pulsing this love energy fluidly,
Easily around your entire body?
Filling your veins,
Rejuvenating your system.
This is your loving capacity.
It is boundless,
Infinite and without limit.
How much more can you sip in?
How much more love can you give yourself?
As readily as you give love to others is as readily as you can give it to yourself.
And you must.
At every choice point,
Turning the love back onto yourself.
Because you are deserving of it.
Taking a few moments now to bring your awareness back to the room you're in.
Noticing the sounds around you.
Noticing what you can feel under your fingers.
And where your body is pressing into the floor.
Inviting you now to introduce a wee bit of movement into your fingers and toes.
Perhaps a nice big stretch overhead.
Just taking your time to reawaken the body with this new sense of aliveness.
And then gently opening your eyes on your own time.
Taking in the room once again.
