Find awareness of your body,

The fingers,

And where they rest.

Are they relaxed or are they clenching?

Now the toes.

Ask them the same question.

The shoulders,

Are they heavy?

Do you feel a burden,

Tightness,

Tension?

Are they relaxed?

Now the spine.

Does your body,

The stability of the core,

Does it support your spine?

Where is it stable and relaxed?

Where is it tight and stuck?

Follow your spine from the lowest point all the way up into the skull and beyond.

Now become aware of your breath.

Where does it go?

Maybe into your belly,

Up and down your spine,

Lower abdomen,

Maybe even down near your tailbone.

Where does your breath go?

And where does it begin?

Where does it start?

Does it start at the tip of your nose?

Is that the engine or the source of the air beginning?

Or rather,

Does the breath start within you,

Directly in the center of your torso?

Place your hand there,

On the diaphragm,

And encourage and witness the breath.

Relax and become still.

Stay here.

Now become aware of your thoughts.

Can you step back?
