The chakras or major energy centers are like energetic data disks that hold imprints from past and present experiences in our lives.
Working with the chakra system in meditation can be very healing.
It can help to clear things on a deep level,
Leaving us freer and more available physically,
Emotionally,
And spiritually.
We'll move through each energy center visualizing the color associated with that center,
And then simply exploring the energy of each area as it relates to specific aspects of our lives.
Whatever you notice as you move through the centers can serve as an opening to where you are in this moment in your energetic system.
This awareness and acceptance is the first step toward any shift that might happen.
It's important not to worry about whether you're able to see the colors or even effectively focus your mind on any given area.
You can take your observations as information about the state of your energetic body,
And where there might be blocks,
Balance,
Or excess energy.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated or lying down posture.
Let yourself relax.
Feel the support of the floor or the chair,
And become aware of your breath.
Let go of any tension you might be holding in your body,
And put aside any concerns from your day.
Now bring your attention to the first chakra located at the very bottom of the pelvis,
The perineum.
Visualize a brilliant red light permeating this area.
The first chakra relates to our connection to our body,
Our life force,
And the earth.
It's also affected by family and group relationships and dynamics.
Notice the quality of the energy here in the first chakra,
And just be present with whatever you notice.
As we bring our awareness to each center,
We allow the energy to shift naturally.
Now bring your attention to your second chakra located about 2 inches below the navel.
Visualize a brilliant orange light filling that area.
This is the center related to one-on-one relationships,
Money issues,
Sexuality,
And creativity.
Observe the quality of the energy in the second chakra.
Now moving to the third chakra,
Visualizing a beautiful yellow light permeating the solar plexus area.
The third chakra is connected to our relationship to ourselves,
Our self-esteem,
Our sense of integrity,
Our identity.
Often childhood issues can be lodged in this area.
So spend some time here,
Just noticing.
Bring your awareness now to the fourth chakra at the heart center.
Visualize a brilliant green light like the color of a forest filling the heart area.
This is the center for love,
Compassion,
And forgiveness.
Becoming aware of the state of your own heart center in this moment.
Moving your attention now to the fifth chakra located at the throat.
Visualizing a beautiful light blue like an empty sky.
This center relates to self-expression,
Speaking our truth,
And aligning our will to the divine will.
How is your fifth chakra in this moment?
Be present with whatever is.
Bring your attention now to the sixth chakra,
The space between the eyebrows,
And visualize the color indigo,
A beautiful reddish purple like an amethyst.
This center relates to our mental and emotional intelligence,
The area of the mind,
And our divine wisdom and understanding.
Often focusing on the sixth chakra will bring an immediate silence to our thoughts.
Notice the quality of the energy in your sixth chakra.
Now bring awareness to the seventh chakra located at the crown of the head.
Visualizing a brilliant violet filling this area.
This is our connection to our source,
Our connection to our own divinity.
It's also our storehouse for grace.
Bring presence now to the seventh chakra.
Now take some time to relax and bathe in the healing vibration of the chakra energy.
