Take a deep breath in and out to center yourself for this watering.

While it may seem like an insignificant daily task,

Any intentional action may be considered a meditation.

On your next breath in,

Consider what a blessing it is to care for another living thing.

The same water that makes up more than 70% of our human bodies is exactly what gives the plants nourishment.

As you water in the same way the plants become quenched,

Imagine yourself under the cleansing,

Revitalizing water.

Stop in front of the plant you are at.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Observe it.

Observe the way the leaves turn upwards or down,

The spiral of the stems or the unique shape of its growth.

Each plant is different and grows in accordance with its circumstances.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Fill the air as it flows into your nostrils,

As it whispers around the plant.

Notice any new sprouts or leaves.

Notice any roots peeking above the soil.

As you take in the green of the plant,

Remember how this plant in front of you,

Which may feel separate in its pot or its planter,

Is actually part of a much larger natural world,

Just as you or I also are.

However the plant is doing,

Whether it's thriving or wilted,

Is part of its cycle of natural growth and decay.

While we may enthuse it with our good energy and our care,

At the end of the day the plant has its own path.

Its outcome is simply part of the universe and not a reflection upon us.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Consider your own deliberate,

Kind actions.

It is a privilege to be able to care for another living thing.

In the same way you've provided the plants nourishment,

The attention,

Do not forget to care for the own living thing that is you today.

Namaste.
