Hello and welcome to this meditation,
A gentle guided practice in returning to yourself.
Take the time to settle in,
Finding a comfortable,
Supported position.
Make any adjustments you need,
And when you're ready,
Soften your gaze and gently close your eyes.
Throughout the day,
Your attention is often pulled in many directions,
Toward responsibilities,
Toward thoughts and distractions,
Toward what's happening around you.
And over time,
It's easy to feel just slightly disconnected from your center,
Your inner anchor point.
It's easy to get drawn into all that goes on externally,
Everything that's happening outside of you.
This practice is an invitation to come back,
Back to yourself,
Back to this moment,
Back to the quiet place within.
Before changing anything,
Simply notice that you are here,
Not thinking of what you need to do next,
Not thinking of what has already happened.
Just this moment,
You,
Here,
In this present moment.
Notice your body,
Resting or sitting.
Notice the space around you,
And begin to sense the quiet presence of simply being.
There is nothing you need to figure out in this moment,
Nothing to solve.
Just feel the experience of being here.
Now gently bring your awareness to your breath.
Just notice,
Without needing to control it,
The natural inhale and the natural exhale.
Let the breath move in its own rhythm,
At its own pace.
And as you follow the breath,
Begin to feel a soft release with each exhale,
Letting go of all the little micro-muscles where you may not even notice you're holding tension.
Nothing forced,
Just a gentle unwinding.
With each breath out,
You may feel yourself settling,
Just a little more.
For the next few moments,
Let yourself be with the breath.
Now begin to bring your awareness inward,
Noticing that beneath the movement of thoughts,
Beneath the sensations of the body,
There is a quieter space,
A steady space,
A place within you that is not rushed,
Not pulled in different directions.
Just present.
You don't need to search for it,
You don't need to create it,
It already exists within you.
For the next few moments,
Gently allow your attention to rest there,
As if you are sitting beside yourself in stillness.
As you remain here,
Notice how it feels to be connected to yourself in this way,
Not trying to change anything,
But simply returning,
This is always available to you,
Not something you need to earn or find outside of yourself,
But something you can gently come back to again and again.
Now,
Begin to deepen your breath,
Just slightly.
Notice your body once more,
The space around you,
Any sounds you hear.
Gently invite in small movements,
Perhaps moving your fingers,
Wiggling your toes.
Take your time here,
There is no rush to leave this space.
Then,
When you feel ready,
You may gently open your eyes,
Carrying this sense of steadiness with you,
A quiet reminder that you can return to yourself whenever you need.
May you carry peace with you wherever you go.
Thank you for listening.
