Welcome to this meditation.
In which I will guide you to meet your inner child.
Before we get started,
Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting up or lying down whichever feels more comfortable.
And take a moment to notice how you feel right now.
You don't need to change anything.
You don't need to fix anything.
Just observe.
And allow everything that is here.
And now let's take a few deep breaths in together,
Breathing in through your nose.
Hold for a second and exhale with a sigh.
Take another deep breath in through your nose to your belly.
Pulse.
And exhale as you sigh One last time,
Breathing in.
Holds.
And breathe out with a big sigh.
And now take a moment to feel the weight of your body.
And how your body is being supported by the chair that you sit on,
The bed that you lie on.
And notice how with every exhale you can let go a bit more.
And if you haven't already done so,
Gently close your eyes.
Just imagine that you're in a magical forest.
It can be a forest that you create with your imagination.
Can be a forest that you may know from a movie.
Or it might even be a real forest.
It doesn't matter.
Just take a look around and take it all in.
Notice the trees around you.
Notice the colors.
Hear the sounds.
Maybe you hear the wind whistling through the leaves.
Maybe you hear some birds?
And also feel the air on your skin.
Take a breath and smell the forest air.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
And then you notice a path.
And you begin to walk that path slowly.
Calmly.
Until you reach a small clearing.
And there.
You see a child.
And you slowly approach that child.
And as you come closer.
You realize it's you.
It's your inner child.
A child who grew up in a home that may not always have been stable,
Predictable or emotionally safe.
The child who maybe had to grow up too fast.
Just observe.
How old are they?
What are they wearing?
What expression is on their face?
Do they look sad?
Strong Happy?
Angry Afraid Lonely.
Or brave.
And also notice what you feel as you see them.
Maybe you feel some sadness.
Or tenderness.
Maybe nothing at all.
Just remember that everything is welcome.
And now gently introduce yourself.
Tell them.
That you are the grown-up version of them.
Tell them that you are here to listen.
To understand.
And to learn.
And notice how they respond.
And also tell them I see you.
I hear you.
And I feel you.
And if it feels right,
You can also tell them I love you.
And if that feels too big,
That's okay too.
If any emotions come up.
Everything is welcome.
And now ask your inner child.
What do you need from me right now?
And listen,
Not with your thinking mind,
But with your heart.
Maybe they don't speak with words,
But they communicate in images of feelings.
Just listen with your heart.
Maybe they feel sad and just want to cry.
Maybe they are really angry and want to scream.
Maybe they are really longing for a hug.
For someone who's there for them.
Maybe they need to hear that it was never their job to fix everything.
Or maybe they need permission to not be the strong one.
Can you for now?
In your imagination.
Give them what they are longing for.
Which in this reality might just be a few moments,
But in that magical forest,
It might feel like an eternity.
You are doing great,
Keep going.
And now ask them.
What do you most need to hear from me?
Maybe they need to hear,
You didn't do anything wrong.
You are not too much.
You are not responsible for other people's feelings.
Proud of you.
You are enough.
I love you beyond measure.
Or maybe.
.
.
You are fucking awesome.
Whatever it is.
Just repeat those words to them.
Slowly.
Let them land.
And notice what happens inside of you.
And I'll ask them.
What would you like from me in the coming days,
Weeks or months?
Maybe they want to dance together with you.
Maybe they want to be more creative.
To make music,
To paint,
To express themselves.
Maybe they want to move more.
Or maybe they want to relax more.
Maybe they want you to take more time to actually connect with them and notice how they feel.
Maybe they just want to watch a movie with you or sit on a swing and enjoy the movement.
Whatever it is that they want.
Can you promise them that you're gonna do it?
And only promise what you truly can and will keep.
Now take a moment to thank your inner child for meeting you today.
And gently invite them to come and live in a place in your body that feels safe.
Maybe in your heart or maybe your belly.
Or somewhere else.
And imagine your inner child moving there.
Settling in being held by your body.
And notice what it feels like to carry them with you.
They are no longer alone.
When they have fully settled in your body.
You begin to walk back through the magical forest.
This time,
You are not alone.
You carry your inner child.
Let your eyes wander through the forest one last time.
What do you notice?
Does the forest look different?
Does it smell different?
Does it feel different?
Or is it exactly as it was before?
Everything is fine.
Just observe.
And remember that this place is always here.
That you can return to it whenever you need.
And now gently bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel your feet on the ground or on the mattress.
Notice the sounds in the room.
Start moving your fingers and your toes.
Maybe you wanna stretch out a bit or maybe yawn.
Oh.
And whenever you're ready.
Go ahead and open your eyes.
Welcome back!
Thank you for doing this meditation.
Sending lots of love to you and your inner child.
Namaste.
