Hello and welcome to this short guided meditation from these artful hours.

The next five or ten minutes of a cool,

Calm,

Deep relaxation to find a quiet spot where you won't be disturbed and enjoy.

Close your eyes now and take a deep relaxing breath.

Find a comfortable position allowing your body to sink into a soft surface,

Feeling safe,

Supported and at ease.

With every breath allow yourself to unwind,

Sink deeper and deeper into relaxation.

Let go of all of the tension you are holding in your neck,

Your shoulders,

Your chest,

Your stomach,

Your hips,

Your knees and then your ankles.

With every exhale release and relax,

Deeper and deeper into calm relaxation.

Now from this place of deep relaxation imagine yourself walking through a glorious park on a sunny summer's day.

Paint that picture in your mind's eye,

Focusing inward on each of your senses in turn.

What images do those words evoke in your mind?

What can you see?

What can you hear?

What can you smell?

What can you taste?

Picture yourself sitting down on a soft grassy patch beneath the cool shade of a towering old oak tree.

Sunlight filters through the leaves,

Casting a dappled pattern of warmth upon your skin.

The air is filled with joyful melodies of birds and the distant laughter of children playing.

As you take in this delightful scene,

Enjoying the beauty of the summer day,

You notice a friendly dog approaching you with a wagging tail.

His eyes sparkle with warmth and curiosity,

Inviting you in to his playful world.

He bounced towards you,

His tongue lolling out in a happy grin,

As if he knows that you share a special connection.

You reach out your hand and with a gentle pat on his head you instantly feel a bond forming.

It's as if you've known each other for a lifetime and it fills your heart with a profound sense of joy and contentment.

You look into the dog's eyes and see excitement and anticipation and more than that,

Love.

Unconditional love.

With a playful bounce,

He jumps onto your lap and looks up at you,

Inviting you to stroke him,

His furry head tilting in delicious anticipation.

You stroke the soft fur on his head and his back,

Feeling the waves of relaxation ripple through you both,

A shared connection of calm bliss.

Take a moment to appreciate the tiny but wonderful details.

The fur is lush and inviting,

Forming delicate patterns that seem to dance beneath your fingers.

You can feel the dog's trust and gratitude as he leans into your touch,

Encouraging your gentle exploration and enjoying kneading his back like dough.

Reach out now to caress the dog's ears,

Enjoying the velvety feel beneath your fingers.

His ears are so incredibly soft,

Like delicate petals.

Each stroke deepens your feelings of calm contentment.

Feel the warmth that radiates from the dog's ears,

Like a cozy and gentle hug.

Let your fingertips glide through the silky fur and revel in the pure pleasure of touch.

Each stroke is a symphony of textures,

From the feathery softness of the outer edges of the ear to the slightly denser plushness near the base.

The strands of fur intertwine between your fingers,

So soft,

So soothing,

Such a pleasant sensation.

As you continue to stroke the dog's ears,

A light breeze carries over the scent of freshly cut grass and wildflowers.

Inhale deeply,

Allowing this fragrant bouquet to invigorate your senses and ground you in this gorgeous place.

And with each stroke of the dog's ears,

Feel your worries melt away,

Replaced by a sense of tranquility and peace.

Allow yourself to be fully present,

Fully engaged in this moment of pure bliss.

Listen now to the sounds of the park.

Listen to the gentle rustle of the leaves in the breeze,

The distant hums of bees collecting nectar,

And the cheerful chatter of picnickers enjoying the day.

As your fingers continue to correct the dog's ears,

Notice a subtle vibration,

The gentle pulse that resonates through your fingertips.

It's the rhythm of life,

The dog's heartbeat,

Echoing your own.

Feel the connection,

The unity between your heartbeats,

A reminder that we are all interconnected in this beautiful tapestry of existence.

Take a moment to breathe in the beauty and serenity of this experience.

Feel the love and the gratitude that radiates from this little dog,

A reflection of the love and the gratitude and the compassion you carry in your own heart.

And as you gently withdraw your hand and let the dog bounce away through the grass,

You're filled with appreciation for this wonderful encounter,

And you instinctively know that you can return to this place whenever you wish.

Very slowly,

Bring your awareness back to the present moment.

Notice a sensation in your fingers and toes,

In the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet,

As you allow yourself to wake up to the world around you,

The room that you're in,

The day or the night ahead.

Take just a moment to savour the lingering sensations,

The beauty and playfulness of this guided meditation.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes,

Carrying the blissful memory of the encounter with your new furry friend,

Ready to embrace the world with renewed energy and a heart full of love.
