Sound Bath Sessions 294: Tony Khoo
Tony used to work a corporate job travelling the world before changing paths to become a yoga teacher and sound bath practitioner. He always had a singing bowl with him on his corporate trips and when he began focusing on wellness he saw that sound baths could complement and add value to his yoga offerings. He attended a class in Bali that was focused on multi-instrument sound baths, which has influenced his style. His calm and thoughtfully detailed character is also apparent in his sessions. He is not musically trained, so the sound he expresses is purely from his emotion. Tony started with the metal bowls for the second session. The bowls were laid out in a square grid in front of him in a specific order. Filling in the gaps and beyond were other smaller instruments and mallets. He quietly floats to the tubular chimes, finishing with the unexpected sound of a toy music box.
