Sound Bath Sessions 156: Nicky Sum
A few days after I got back from Singapore, I was still buzzing on the amazing experience. It was good to be back home and even better to record Nicky again. I really enjoy listening to her sessions and her style is very comforting and gentle. She previously said she wanted to use tuning forks for this session but needed some time to practice and study more about tuning forks. Through our conversations, she mentions that the theory behind tuning forks is complex because different frequencies have different purposes depending on the brain waves they affect. We recorded in her space again with the familiar swishing of cars from the highway below. After a chime introduction, she slowly begins by playing single forks in each ear playing with the stereo sound. It would later evolve into multiple forks played at the same time to create interesting modulations in the sounds.
