Sound Bath Sessions 020: Kaman Yip

Kaman plays her monochord outside in a park in Shatin. We sat under the shade of a tree on a hot spring afternoon. I love this recording because the instrument drone seems to disappear into the eclectic hum of the surrounding environment. Amidst distant traffic, a waterfall feature, karaoke, groundskeeper sweepings, and leaves rustling, the monochord's amorphous sound seems to take the shape of its surroundings, being neither too prominent nor too subdued.
