Hello,
Welcome back.
I'm Sarah,
A somatic facilitator and coach,
Here to help you build nervous system resilience so you can live up to your fullest potential with ease and confidence.
I'll be guiding you through meditation.
Breath works.
Visualization and deep rest so that you can explore the pause between where you've been and where you're going.
Welcome to liminal space.
Today I'll be guiding you through a short yoga nidra and a visualization.
First we'll settle your nervous system.
And then from that harmony we'll do something a little different.
For paint.
Not with your hands,
But with your attention.
Because the mind is a canvas.
And many of us keep painting the same picture over and over.
Book today?
We'll pick the brush up and brush intentionally and paint a new narrative.
So find somewhere to lie down.
Let the body be held.
And if it feels safe,
Let your eyes close or just take a soft gaze.
And then slow breath in through the nose.
And a long sigh out of the mouth.
And again breathing in.
And letting go.
Final one here,
Fill the lungs.
And release.
Releasing everything that no longer serves you to the air.
To the surface beneath you.
And let your breath find its own pace again.
Each exhale a small signal of safety moving through your nervous system you are fully supported here.
So welcome your body to rest.
And let's plant one short intention here.
We call that a sankalpa in yoga.
Sowing this seed.
And do it in the present tense,
As if it's already true.
You might think I hold the brush.
I paint the picture.
Something in your own words that feels maybe a little more courageous than you feel right now.
Repeat it to yourself a few times and then let it settle in your body.
Feel it take up space and radiate from your heart.
We'll start to journey through the body as we rotate our awareness around it.
So let your attention rest lightly wherever I name.
We'll start with your hands.
Rest.
Elbows.
Shoulders.
Um.
.
.
All softening.
Feet.
Ankles.
Names.
Hips.
All softening.
The way.
The rib.
The spine.
The heart space.
All softening the back of the body held completely by the earth.
The front of the body melting down.
The jaw loose.
Tongue resting.
Eyes heavy.
The face softening.
The whole body,
Resting,
Breathing.
Being.
Notice this harmony This is a settled nervous system.
It's not empty.
It's prime.
A blank canvas,
An open surface we're about to work on.
To bring your mind to the colour of dusk.
That in-between light.
Neither day.
Nor night.
Let your whole inner landscape become that colour.
This is your canvas.
And painted.
Yours.
You are the painter and you always were.
First.
Let's map the body for any tension that you're holding on to.
Don't move it,
Don't fix it.
Just find its colour,
Its texture.
Maybe it's tight.
Hot.
Heavy.
Maybe the colour feels a little grey,
Red or blue.
And what do the edges look like?
Maybe they're really smooth.
Jagged.
Just find it and meet it exactly where it is.
And now,
Instead of painting over it or scrubbing it out,
Of finding a newcomer.
Invite it into the picture.
It's another colour you can paint with.
Another perspective you can use.
Another tool or shape to give the picture more depth.
Reflect on what this tension or heaviness is holding you back from.
And let it arrive as a single symbol.
A picture.
Gesture.
Color.
Someone you'd call.
A door you'd open.
A word you'd finally say out loud.
Don't analyze it.
Instead,
Just start to paint it.
One stroke at a time.
Now let the brush go where it needs to go.
Let one stroke suggest the next.
No plan.
Let colour call to another colour.
Let the picture start to build itself.
It might surprise you.
And stay curious about what wants to appear.
And when it feels full enough.
Stop.
Leave it unfinished.
Welcome it to unfold over time.
This is the liminal space.
The pause between who you were and who you're becoming.
Pause that lasts longer than you'd expect.
You don't have to complete this picture today.
You only have to know one thing.
That you are the artist.
Feel the weight of the paintbrush in your hand.
That weight is agency,
Resilience,
Creativity,
Expression.
The brush is in your hand.
It always has been and always will be.
And then return to your intention,
Your sankalpa,
This seed you've sown.
Repeat it silently again to yourself,
Maybe three times or more.
And let this feel less like a wish and more like reality,
Something that's already happened.
Then notice your inhales start to deepen and your exhales start to lengthen.
Your senses come back alive as you feel the surface beneath you.
The temperature of the air touching your skin.
The sounds around you.
Your inner landscape meeting the external world again.
And then twinkle fingers and toes.
When you're ready,
Fluttering your eyes open.
You are here and the canvas is yours.
Sometimes society and stress convinces us that they're holding the brush.
That our lives are being painted for us.
The knot.
A grounded nervous system is how you remember whose hand the brush is in.
Come back each time you need help building the resilience to meet your stress.
So that you can remember to live a life from alignment and intention.
Please share this with someone who needs to be reminded whose hand the brush is in.
Rest well,
And I'll see you next week.
