This is a meditation for when you feel scared.
Go ahead and gently close your eyes.
Bringing a hand to your heart and a hand towards your belly.
Taking a moment to just notice your body and shift anything you need to,
To get more comfortable.
Taking a deep inhale through the nose.
Holding that breath at the top.
And slowly exhaling through the mouth.
To more like that.
Deep inhale through the nose.
Holding that breath at the top.
Slow exhale through the mouth.
Do one more there.
Deep inhale through the nose.
Holding that breath at the top Slow exhale through the mouth,
Feeling the shoulders drop.
And the jaw softened.
Chances are.
.
.
There is something in your body right now.
That does not feel great.
There is something that is asking you for bravery.
For vulnerability.
For truth and courage.
And there is probably a small part of you.
That is screaming.
They don't want to do it.
That you do not want to do this.
That part of you.
We don't want to ignore them.
And shove them away into a closet.
Or sweep them under the rug.
I want to lovingly tend to that part of you.
And before we go there.
Into the cave or belly of the beast.
We want to arrive with support.
Calling in your most nurturing self.
A version of you that feels like the ultimate kind,
Loving parent.
Feeling that mother or father.
That loving elder energy come into the room with you.
Feel how nurturing that part of you is,
How safe you feel.
Is the ultimate parent,
Ultimate adult.
Who's here to protect you?
And give you everything you need.
We're also going to call in your protector self.
The strong warrior part of you.
That will fight any battle on your behalf.
That will defend you from harm and danger.
Who will stick up for you no matter what with no questions asked.
Picture that protector self.
You may be surprised how they look,
What they carry,
Or how they hold themselves.
Feel that strong energy they have.
With them,
You're reminded anything is possible.
Feeling into both your nurturing and protect yourself.
And seeing if there is anyone else you would like to call in or bring into the scene.
To help you.
Be brave and conquer this fear.
Taking a moment to welcome in any energy.
That feels right today.
And then hand in hand or side by side.
Walking with these resource states,
These supportive beings.
Towards the part of you that is most scared.
Only getting as close as you're able.
And taking a moment just to observe and witness that part of you that is so afraid.
Of the change.
The big leap.
The hard task in front.
And then ask that fearful self.
What they are afraid of.
And see in your mind's eye an image of that fear.
It might be the act itself,
Or it might be a creation in your mind.
That represents this task and this fear.
Might feel like a scary monster in your mind's eye.
Remembering you are safe.
You're protected.
You have your nurturer self and your protector self right here with you.
And as you look at that thing you're most afraid of.
Really look at it.
No,
I can't get to you.
It is locked or in a bubble.
Or behind.
Bulletproof glass.
I cannot reach you.
But take a moment to really witness and observe it.
What is this thing you are most afraid of?
The more you witness it.
The more you notice things about it you hadn't seen before.
Or previously you saw the claws and the teeth.
And all the scary pieces.
Of what you're afraid of.
You also now witness the soft fur on this beast.
The beautiful colors of its scales.
But one seemed large.
May now look a little bit fluffy to you.
When you really observe.
The sphere locked away.
You see underneath it,
It is protecting something.
A little tiny version of you.
Sits underneath this monstrous fear of the unknown.
Curled in a ball.
This monster you've become afraid of.
Fiercely protects and guards a small version of you that it tries to keep safe.
You see how colossal this fear is.
How scary and enormous it is.
And you realize this monster and beast in front of you.
That is how much it loves you.
That it will turn into whatever it needs to to keep you safe and protect you.
It is not known.
That some things won't hurt you.
And that you will be okay.
And that part of living and loving means there are uncomfortable,
Painful moments.
Is part of the human experience.
In order to pick roses,
Sometimes we might feel the thorn.
As you look at this piece.
With some compassion now.
For what it's been trying to do.
And for all its effort,
It's put in protecting you.
You start to soften.
It is doing the best that it can.
And it does not know what else to do.
And so we must teach and show it.
That the world is not only a scary place.
The world,
In fact,
Can be a very beautiful place.
And there can be a lot of love in it,
A lot of loving people,
A lot of loving energy.
And a lot of things that can go right.
More often than things that can go wrong.
As you send it safely approach the beast.
You notice that it in fact is quite scared as well.
And you gently hold out your hands,
Showing that you mean no harm.
You bend down to a knee.
And tip your head forward.
Bowing slowly,
Showing that you are no threat.
You are meant to be a caretaker and steward to it.
You are meant to love it so much that it does not need to be afraid.
As you would tell the monster.
That it is okay.
That you were going to help it.
That you are going to keep it safe and you're going to keep them safe.
The little you resting underneath the beast.
The beast begins to shrink.
Begins to change.
The fangs and teeth begin to grow smaller.
The spikes and scales.
Begin to recede.
A softness.
Spreads throughout the creature.
As it slowly and slowly shifts.
Until you look at it and smile,
Because it is quite cute.
And it has a lot of joy and excitement.
It has been told that there are good things in the world.
There's beauty.
There is hope.
There's the possibility.
Things might go right.
They might go better.
Than it had ever thought.
And you come over to it.
And you give it a hug.
And you find that little version of you that was once underneath the beast.
And you take that small,
Scared part of you and you gently bring her back into your essence and awareness.
And you tell them.
That it's going to be okay.
You tell both the fear.
And what the fear was protecting that is now joined back in you.
That it will be okay.
Your nurturer self.
And your protector self.
Are right there behind you.
Ready to help you in whatever way you might need.
Looking around where the beast lived.
You see,
That is not quite so scary at all.
I was afraid of what I didn't know.
It loved you so much.
That it was willing to become and do anything to keep you safe.
And you're lovingly gonna take this fearful piece.
This creature.
That is actually just love.
You're gonna walk out of the cage or room.
And you're gonna bring it back to the world.
With you hand in hand.
And you're gonna show it.
How beautiful and vast.
This planet and life can be.
It's not sure,
But it believes you.
It trusts you.
And you trust in yourself.
These things you crave.
These things you want.
They're right on the other side.
Of taking that leap.
With your fear.
And you will find that as your creature transformed,
So will you when you approach that cliffside.
You'll find that wings stretch and grow.
Or that a parachute?
Comes out of the bag.
You will find that the wind carries and lifts you.
You will not fall as you fear.
You will fly.
And it may take some getting used to.
It may not be smooth at first.
There may be some bumps in the air.
But you can do it.
You're not alone.
You are so strong,
So brave,
And this world needs you as your full,
Vibrant,
Authentic self.
The world deserves your light,
All pieces of you,
And for you to fully shine,
Stepping forward into your power.
Go ahead.
And take the leap.
It's all going to work out.
