Mordovian Moods was written on November 18, 2022, expressing sadness over the news of American Olympian gold medalist Brittney Griner being sent to a working prison in Mordovia, Russia. The song also represents the sense of loss that all people experience at one time or another. Whether loss of freedom, loss of a loved one, loss of home, or loss of health – we all share the pain. “All songs are a prayer.” This lonely song is played on a Native American flute made of burled maple by the composer Sandi Horton.
