Curiously - A Poem About Open-Mindedness

As we get older we can get a little stuck in our ways, imagining that we know exactly how things are going to work out before they even happen. This little poem is a gentle nudge to stay open and curious and to be prepared to be surprised. Things are usually happening for us, even if it doesn't always feel that way.

Curiously. Be curious. Don't make stuff up. Remain in observation. Don't let your fear thoughts interrupt or fuel imagination. Look at what's there. Stay self-aware. Choose love and self-compassion. Although past stories seek to scare, Stay present whilst in action. Be curious. Stay open-eyed. Your inner child, Your guru. When you are open to surprise, New impulses can stir you. A growth mindset will buck you up. Be mindful and be patient. Be curious. Don't make stuff up. Remain in observation.
