In this recording, MaRiza reads a poem entitled "Emergence" which serves as an anchor for an intuitive reading she did on behalf of the Insight Timer community. This poem then serves to lead the listener into a meditation to draw the energies of emergence, freedom, and courageous rebirth into the body.

Hi loves,

My name is Risa and I'm here with the poetry of Awakening.

This piece is called Emergence.

The surface bubbles,

Arches,

Stretches thin,

As something from below urges itself upwards,

Aching to be free,

To be on the other side,

To taste its own sovereignty.

The surface is not solid,

Hard,

Brittle ice,

It undulates and moves with the effort until at last it tears open,

Revealing none other than you.

In the radical act of birthing yourself,

Midwiving your own emergence,

Answering the question of your own timely,

Untimely,

Timely disappearance.

By reappearing here,

At last,

Onto this gelatinous living ground.

You pull others up and out,

Out and up through the tear that you created,

With your will,

With your faith,

With your words,

And in the silence of your pain and knowing that a life more beautiful than the one that you had lived was worth waking up to.

And so here you are,

Leading the charge,

Dancing into the expanding horizon highlighted by the rising sun,

And willingly frolicking into the wild unknown,

The wind at your back and sprouting wings from the scars behind you.

I welcome you to close your eyes and share with me for this moment the feeling of sovereignty in your body,

The feeling of freedom,

The sensation of breaking free from the resistance,

From the struggle.

Breaking through that gelatinous surface,

The veil that separates the life that you've known from the life that you have yet to create.

Invite yourself to feel the sensation of standing like a skilled surfer on this undulating ground,

This living surface of change,

And allowing yourself to feel skilled at the way that you ride the waves,

Feeling still joyous and free in this space of unknown possibilities.

Bring the sensation into your body and even feel your shoulders arching back as you sprout wings to fly.

Keeping your eyes closed,

Just give your shoulders a few rotations and feel the scars of all that you have lost,

All that has harmed you,

Wounded you,

All the traumas that you have endured and survived.

Feel that as the place from which these wings are sprouting.

Slide your wings out wide and notice them.

Notice their colors,

Their shape and size.

Give yourself the sensation of flapping those wings and imagine that the air around you is turning the color of those feathers,

This color of freedom,

This color of healing,

The color of courage,

And that is something that you can share.

I'm going to ring our bell now and invite you to gather some of this energy into your hands,

Bringing your hands into an orb in front of your face and imagine that you're cradling the earth in your hands.

All the beings that are known and unknown to you,

Living on this precious jewel of a planet nestled in your hands,

Shrouded in this energy that you've created from the flapping of your beautiful freedom wings and encasing the earth in that energy,

In that prayer,

In that blessing,

In that gift of you,

Sending that blessing down to each being on the planet.

And including beings of the past,

The present,

The future,

And scooping that earth into your heart.

Allow all the sensations that moved through you just now in this exploration to sink deep into your body,

Into your bones,

Into your bone marrow and your blood.

Allow it to circulate through every square inch of your body.

Drink deeply from this well,

Giving you thanks for showing up today for yourself and for everyone else.

Thank you and be well.
