
Be The Parent You Want To Be
It is time for you to be the parent that you want to be. You have made a choice to reclaim control of your thoughts, your words, and your actions, and this very minute you are now rebuilding the person that you were into the parent that you want to be. You know the only aspect in your family dynamic that you are truly in control of is yourself, and the more you control your own thoughts, your own words, and your own actions to be positive, those around you follow your positive lead.

Be the parent you want to be.
You should now either be lying quietly and comfortably on your bed or be seated in a relaxed position in a comfortable chair.
Please close your eyes now and begin concentrating on your breathing.
Inhaling and exhaling smoothly and regularly.
Noticing how easily your body naturally settles and relaxes more and more as you exhale each and every breath.
And while I'm talking to you,
Please allow each and every breath that you exhale to help you relax down deeper and deeper and deeper.
Tune into the sound of my voice and concentrate please on the words I am speaking.
And as you do so you will find that your imagination is becoming more and more vivid and more and more responsive to the suggestions that I am giving you.
You are turning my suggestions into your own imaginative thoughts and as a result you are feeling more and more like I am.
And as you do so you will be feeling whatever you imagine more and more as we proceed.
Please imagine now that you are lying in a soft and luxurious bed of clouds.
The warmest,
Softest,
Most comfortable bed you can imagine.
Its pillowy folds enclose every limb and make you feel safe in this dreamy bed of clouds.
And you allow yourself to steadily and progressively relax deeper and deeper and deeper into its cushioning depth.
And as I count downwards from 10 down to 1,
Relax every part of your body down further and further as I refer to it.
Allowing every muscle to become more and more limp and more and more loose.
Here we go now.

Relax your feet,
Letting them sink deeper and deeper into the softness.

Allow every muscle in your legs to become very very limp and very very loose now,
Enclosed in pillowy folds of cloud.

Imagine and feel your hips,
Your stomach and your chest becoming more and more relaxed.

Your back is melting down deeper and deeper into the cushioning bed of clouds now,
Supporting you effortlessly.
And then on the count of 6,
Let your shoulders drop.
Let your shoulders relax and sink down.

Imagine there is a lovely warm glow traveling down your arms now,
Traveling through your upper arms,
Elbows,
Forearms,
Wrists,
And into your hands and through your fingers.

Your head is becoming more tired and heavy as it melts backwards into the warmth of the bed of clouds.

Your facial muscles are all feeling very much more limp and very much more loose now,
Drooping,
Softly and comfortably relaxing.

Your forehead is melting down onto your eyelids,
Your eyelids down onto your cheeks,
Your cheeks down onto your jaw,
Mouth and chin.
And then finally 1.
You are very much relaxed now,
Drifting easily and deeply,
Tuned into the sound of my voice and the words I am speaking to you.
Please take 3 very slow deep breaths now,
Filling your lungs completely with each breath,
Holding each one in for a few moments and then as you exhale,
Relaxing down deeper and deeper and deeper.
You are becoming more and more accustomed to my voice now and you are finding it easier and easier to go down deeper and deeper the more you listen to me.
The sound of my voice guides you into a deeper state of relaxation where you can take my suggestions more and more easily and more and more permanently.
And as you listen to me,
You become more and more imaginative and more easily and able to picture in your mind the things I am describing to you.
And as you picture those things,
Then you are more and more able to feel the changes,
The improvements and the modifications in your mind and your body and in your life.
Steadily and progressively,
Your thoughts,
Your words and your actions are changing,
They are improving.
You are learning and experiencing the benefits that positivity is beginning to have in your life now.
And every day you are improving.
Every day in every way,
You are steadily and progressively getting better and better and better.
It is now time for you to be the parent that you want to be.
You have made a choice to reclaim control of your own thoughts,
Of your own words and of your own actions.
And this very minute you are now rebuilding the person that you were into,
The parent that you want to be.
You know the only aspect in your family dynamic that you are truly in control of is yourself.
And the more you control your own thoughts,
Your own words and your own actions to be positive,
The more those around you follow your positive lead.
Your home life is fast becoming a series of enjoyable moments now.
And every day you are more self-motivated as you pursue more happy memories with more and more enthusiasm and more and more hope.
And more and more optimism.
Your parenting goals are becoming clearer to you now.
And you are enjoying the pride and satisfaction that comes from achieving them.
Every day you have an increased desire and an increased ability to be the parent that you want to be.
Calm and in control.
You know your child is constantly learning from you.
And the behavior you show them is the blueprint for their future behavior.
And you only want the best for them.
You are calm and in control more and more every day now.
You are achieving the positivity,
The confidence and the happiness that you and your family truly deserve,
Need and want.
Your mind is more focused,
Clear and imaginative.
Your body is becoming fitter,
Stronger and healthier.
You are more positive in your own thoughts.
You are more positive in your own words.
And you are more positive in your own actions.
And as you more easily control your own thoughts,
Words and actions by thinking more positively about yourself and your family members.
Therefore you speak more positively too.
Every day your thoughts are becoming more positive and proud as you are choosing to think of things the way you want them to be for you and the closest people in your life.
And every day your words are becoming more positive and proud as you are now choosing to speak of things the way they are becoming.
So your thoughts are more aimed at the future that you want.
And your words are more aimed at the present that you are achieving.
Your mind is becoming more imaginative.
You are especially more able to picture yourself as the parent that you want to be.
Claiming more and more control of your own thoughts and imagining yourself in any situation the way you want to be.
Imagining yourself reacting calmly,
Feeling safe and comfortable.
Imagining yourself reacting calmly,
Feeling better,
Behaving better,
Functioning better and very,
Very proud of your parenting behavior in any situation.
You also have greater control of the words that you speak whether they are to others or to yourself.
Your statements about yourself and your family members are becoming far more positive every day now.
Negative language and concentrating on using more and more positive language and more and more of your speech.
You understand that you and your family are a work in progress and that life is a journey.
And you are becoming calmer,
More confident and are more in control of the direction your family life is taking.
Now that you have more control of your own thoughts,
Your own words then you also have much more control over your own actions.
In effect,
You are thinking and talking yourself into the way that you want to be and those around you are following your positive lead.
From this day forward you have the desire and the ability to influence and improve almost everything about your life by simply thinking and talking of things the way you want them to be.
And as you are becoming more and more able to do this you are building more and more positive expectations for the future and consequently you are influencing that future.
Your actions are following your expectations.
Please take an extra deep breath now and allow your body to relax even more as you exhale it.
Enjoying the wonderful relaxing feeling while concentrating more and more easily and more and more entirely on the sound of my voice and the words I am speaking to you.
Taking better care of your only mind and your only body has suddenly become very very important to you.
As you know you can only give your best to others when you are feeling your best.
And every day now you are becoming more and more determined to ensure both your physical and mental health and well-being.
Every day from now on you'll find that you are able to think much more clearly and that you are able to concentrate much more easily and consequently operate much more efficiently in every way both physically and mentally.
From now on you'll find it's so much easier to focus on the positive aspect of any situation and steadily and progressively you'll find that you are much more determined to keep your mind freer of negative attitudes or negative opinions.
Also you choose to associate with more positive people and you also choose to remove yourself from negative situations.
Negatives,
Whether situations or people,
No longer have the influence or control over you that they once had because you have now reclaimed that control for yourself.
It is your mind,
It is your body and it is your life.
And you are now in control of yourself more and more often.
From now on you are much happier to eat healthier foods and provide them for your family.
You are happier to drink plenty of water and offer it to your family.
And as you take more deep breaths of clean,
Fresh,
Healthy air,
You notice your family doing the same.
And as you are more regularly active,
Your family joins you too.
You are much more determined now to avoid contaminating your body with dangerous and unhealthy substance such as nicotine,
Excessive alcohol,
Fatty or sweet foods and drinks.
And as a result you find yourself progressively looking better and progressively feeling better more and more with each and every passing day.
Being the person you want to be,
Which in turn helps you to be the parent you want to be.
From now on you'll also find yourself walking with more spring in your step.
You'll find that you're holding your back straighter and head higher and that you are smiling much more now.
Day by day you are steadily and progressively becoming a more positive,
Confident and happy person.
More easily controlling your own thoughts,
Your own words and your own actions in more and more situations.
And every day you will find that your role as a parent is becoming clearer and more clear.
And that you are more and more highly motivated to enjoy every aspect.
You have a much stronger commitment now to anything that you choose to do.

You are expecting and obtaining greater happiness with your family every day now.

Now imagine you are at the beach,
Feeling relaxed,
Peaceful and content.
It is a very warm day,
No clouds in the sky,
A warm faint breeze drifts across your skin.
Picture the clear,
Cool,
Refreshing water,
The rhythmic ebbing and flowing of the waves backwards and forwards,
Lulling you deeper into relaxation.
On the beach just ahead of you,
Imagine sitting on the sand,
Another version of you,
Dressed exactly the same,
Looking absolutely identical to you.
And as you look on with gentleness and inquisitiveness at this identical version of you,
You are aware that this other version is holding the hand of your child or children who are seated beside them.
And your child or children are experiencing an uncomfortable emotion,
It might be sadness,
Guilt,
Anger or fear.
They may be acting out,
Throwing a tantrum,
Whining or crying.
Maybe they are displaying a particular negative emotional behavior that your child has been experiencing frequently recently.
You find yourself watching on with a kind curiosity as the negative emotional behavior is being experienced by your child.
And you see the other version of yourself calmly remaining present as the situation unfolds.
You allow the other version of you to experience the negativity of the situation,
Holding their emotions and actions of you and your child separate.
You notice that the other version of you is gentle,
Calm and confident.
And as you watch,
You become aware of your inner strength,
Of your kindness,
Of your love for your child.
And this fills you with the same serenity,
The same depth of courage and openness that you are witnessing.
Courage to face negative situations,
Courage to feel difficulty and uncomfortableness that your child or children experience.
And courage to meet any negativity with calmness,
Positivity and love.
There is a realization that this other version of you can drop any personal negative programming that might arise around your child's negative emotional behavior.
And instead,
You can calmly identify the reason behind their negativity.
And as you come to the realization that your child's behavior is really a cry for more attention or emotional understanding or a shout out for comfort,
Sleep or food.
Or in fact a call to action for firmer,
More consistent limits.
Your negative emotions are simply let go.
So that all that remains is your willingness to be there for your child,
Supporting them through their turbulent behavior.
In the moment,
You acknowledge what is happening for your child and you can encourage them to express their feelings,
No matter how unreasonable they may seem.
You know that reassuring hugs,
Kisses,
Displays of love,
Patience,
Empathy,
Acceptance,
Respectful leadership,
Reasonable limits,
Natural consequences and a genuine interest are the best responses to all types of behavior,
Whatever the reason behind it.
And as you look upon the situation,
You realize that this is how all negativity can be experienced.
And as you do so,
Allow yourself now to merge into that other identical version of yourself,
Bringing a renewed parenting perspective,
A greater sense of strength,
Of love and understanding for your child or children and what they are going through.
The child that you only want the best for,
That is constantly learning from you and looking towards you for guidance.
And you know that as any situation unfolds,
You can drop any negative storyline accompanied by any outburst and you can just accept the behavior for what it is,
A cry for support.
And now you find yourself getting to know your child with increased gentleness,
With patience and your relationship flourishes.
And you feel a sense of pride as you come to understand that no behavior is final.
It comes and it passes.
And this awareness,
This remembering that it is your choice how you react,
Fills you with greater trust and calmness,
Confidence and strength.
Realize your inner resourcefulness.
Fill yourself with peace and contentment,
Deep happiness and trust.
Picture yourself and your child or children sitting down on the sand,
You holding them in your arms,
Their small body nestled in your lap,
Head rested on your chest.
The negative outbursts has passed and calmness settles over both of you.
Feel the warmth of the sun.
Listen to the rhythmic sounds of the waves lapping on the shore and become aware of how very grateful you are to be alive.
How privileged you are to be a parent to your child,
To be experiencing life together,
Of the love you have for each other.
And an even deeper understanding of your own resourcefulness,
Courage and patience to face all parenting challenges overcomes you.
You feel confident you will face all challenges with a renewed perspective,
With the belief that you have inside of you and an essence that is positive,
Calm,
Loving,
Kind and wise.
And if you ever require the same depth of peace,
Of calmness and clarity,
That you can just take a brief moment,
Close your eyes,
Breathe in deeply and acknowledge your strength and positivity within.
And you'll notice that you feel just as peaceful,
Open,
Loving and patient as you are feeling right now.
Just taking a moment to calm yourself,
Closing your eyes,
Breathing in deeply and acknowledging your strength within.
And as you breathe out,
You'll notice your body feeling relaxed and light,
Your mind open and tranquil,
Able to continue to be the positive,
Supportive,
Confident leader your child needs.
Welcoming all challenges,
All emotions,
All behaviours with composure,
Loving kindness,
Compassion and joy.
You notice more and more your attention is being drawn to the positive aspects of your life,
Feeling so much more optimistic.
How very rewarding it is to notice and feel grateful for all the positive gestures,
Whether it's your child's smile,
Listening to them laugh and giggle,
The ever increasing love of your family,
However small.
It is so welcomed and appreciated,
Bringing with it a renewed sense of purpose,
Focus,
Love and appreciation for the joy of parenting.
You are becoming much stronger both in mind and in body,
Much more positive,
Much calmer,
More confident and as a result of all these improvements you are much happier and much more successful in your family life.
You have now chosen to control your own mind,
Your own body and your own life and to be the person and the parent that you want to be.
From now on you are more and more determined every day to improve everything about your life.
You are easily improving your only mind,
Your only body and your only life in more and more ways with each and every passing day.
Please remember to think more positively about yourself and your family and speak of things more positively.
Remember your thoughts should be positive,
Personal and proud and your words should be too.
Think and speak of everything and everyone the way you want it to be and the way it is becoming and you will find yourself rapidly becoming the positive parent that you want to be.
And because your family is a work in progress you are all continually improving and you are all continually moving forward.
A relaxing and rejuvenating trance state is very easily improved by practice so please use this or other recordings or meditations on a daily basis for several weeks or for as long as you consider it beneficial.
Remember that the more relaxed you allow yourself to become while listening to the sound of my voice then the more easily your subconscious mind will accept the suggestions that you are listening to.
Therefore helping you to be the person and the parent that you want to be.
Remember also that your subconscious is influenced every day by every word that you choose to speak or to listen to.
Shortly I am going to count slowly from 1 to 5 and the choice is yours as to whether you slip into a deep relaxing natural sleep or awaken immediately.
If it's the right time and you choose to enter sleep then you will find it deeper and more restful than normal,
Except of course in the event of an emergency or the call of nature.
And then when you do awaken,
Either after my count from 1 to 5 or after a sleep,
You will find yourself very calm,
Rested and refreshed.
You will find that you are wide awake,
Feeling very positive,
Motivated and happy,
With a renewed desire and a renewed ability to move more easily forward in control of your own thoughts,
Your own words and your own actions in any situation.
And to be the person and the parent that you want to be.
