Hello,
Welcome to Finding Home Within,
A meditation for everyone who has ever struggled with the question,
Where is home?
However you relate to the word home right now,
You are welcome exactly as you are.
Maybe you've lived in many places,
Have roots in multiple cultures,
Or have always felt out of place in the culture and location you were born and raised in.
Maybe you are still searching for home or have let go of the idea altogether.
Perhaps this meditation can offer another way.
Of finding hope.
By connecting with the nature that we each have within us.
We will take a journey together using our imaginal senses.
All my guidance are invitations and suggestions that you can follow along or not in any way you like.
If something does not resonate.
That is no problem at all.
Does to what works for you.
So let's start by taking a position that feels supportive.
Finding something comfortable to sit on or lay on.
And a posture that you can relax into for a little while.
And if it feels okay.
I invite you to close your eyes now let's bring some gentle awareness to the breath and to the surface underneath us noticing any thoughts,
Emotions,
Sensations that might be present right now Everything that comes up is okay there's no need to change them or do anything with them Simply.
Noticing.
If it feels possible for you in your mind's eye.
I invite you to try taking on a bird's eye view.
Looking down from the sky at your own body,
Safely resting in your room or house or wherever you are right now.
And also seeing the landscape.
The ecosystem around you.
What do you see?
Which other living beings.
Are part of your world.
Of their plans.
Animals.
Bodies of water.
What do you notice?
As a bird,
You can fly anywhere you like.
You are not limited by roadways and national borders.
I wonder if there is another place on Earth.
That you have.
Or had a connection with.
A place you've lived in before a place where your ancestry traces back to.
Or a place that you simply have good feelings about.
Even if you've only visited once.
Or not at all yet.
Taking a moment to feel into where you might want to go.
And then let's fly there together.
On our bird wings.
From high above we can look down at the land below.
What landscapes are you passing by on the way to your special place?
What are you noticing?
And as we start to approach our destination,
What do you see?
What kind of place is this?
What kind of plants and animals are living here?
How does the air in this place feel?
Is there human settlement or activity here?
I wonder if from a pup.
You can even see your own human self here Maybe a version of you from the past?
Or in the future.
Maybe your own ancestors or descendants who are now here.
What are you noticing?
And now,
Zooming out from this place and turning our gaze back to the sky,
Spreading those bird wings yet again maybe there is another place that you feel called to visit and if not,
If no clear destination comes up just yet.
Maybe allowing the wind to take us.
Where we need to go next.
Feeling the wind and the sun at our backs.
Noticing in which direction are you most naturally,
Most effortlessly being caught.
And what comes into view as you approach your next destination Are there beings?
Or landscape features.
That catches your attention about this place.
I wonder if there are memories or emotions.
Associated with this place if you have been here before How is it to come back?
To be here now.
Maybe you even want to land on the ground of this place having your feet on the ground your wings by your side.
Seeing this place at ground level.
What do you notice?
Perhaps taking a few moments to explore And again,
Slowly spreading your wings,
Allowing the wind to carry you back up into the sky to the open,
Expansive horizon.
Letting this place go.
For now.
Noticing how the wind is picking up blowing stronger than before.
And allowing the wind to take us to a place.
That might not exist on Earth.
Just yet.
This place has all the exact things you need to feel at home.
A place where you will know.
From the moment you see it,
That here is where you truly are.
As your true home comes into view,
The wind becomes gentler and supports you to descend to the ground,
Where you transform back from a bird into a human form.
You are surrounded by people who love and care for you,
Both human and non-human.
I wonder who?
And what.
Is here.
How is it to be you,
Here,
Right now?
Feel free to take a few moments.
Just to explore.
And notice what you find and now bringing your attention back into your physical body and to the space that you are in taking your time to slowly return from the journey knowing.
That your true home is always here in your heart and that you can come back anytime.
Wherever you are.
Belonging is there.
On the inside.
If you'd like to open your eyes.
Look around at the space you're in right now.
I wonder what you notice now about being here.
That might be new.
That you might not have noticed before.
Our practice is complete for now.
Thanks for joining.
