Welcome back.
Take a moment to arrive.
This is your space to pause,
To breathe,
To come back to yourself.
For the next few minutes,
There's nothing you need to fix,
Nothing you need to figure out.
Just this moment.
Find a comfortable position,
Sitting with your feet on the floor or lying down and allowing your body to rest.
Let your hands settle wherever they feel natural.
If it feels comfortable,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and release it gently through your mouth with a sigh.
Again,
Inhale slowly and exhale completely.
Now allow your breath to settle into a natural rhythm.
Bring your awareness to the places where your body meets support.
Your feet on the ground,
Your back resting against the chair,
Your body supported beneath you.
Let gravity hold you for a moment.
You do not need to hold everything right now.
Your body is allowed to rest.
Notice your shoulders,
If they're lifted or tight,
Gently allow them to soften and release.
Relax your jaw,
Your cheeks.
Let your tongue rest easily in your mouth.
Small softening signals safety to the nervous system.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Without forcing it,
Begin to slow the exhale slightly.
Inhaling gently and exhaling just a little longer.
Again,
Inhale and a slow,
Steady exhale.
Longer exhales signal to the body that it is safe to settle.
With each breath,
Imagine your nervous system slowly unwinding.
Bring your awareness to your feet,
Feel them touching the floor.
Imagine roots gently growing downward from your feet into the earth.
Strong,
Steady,
Grounding.
With each breath out,
Imagine tension draining down those roots.
Any stress,
Any overwhelm,
Any pressure you've been carrying,
The earth can hold it.
You do not have to carry it alone.
Allow your body to feel heavier and more supported.
Now,
Notice the activity of your mind.
Thoughts may still be moving quickly,
And that's okay.
Imagine your thoughts like clouds drifting across a wide sky.
You are the sky.
Spacious,
Steady,
Open.
Thoughts may pass through,
But they do not disturb the sky.
Let the thoughts drift by without needing to chase them.
Just return gently to the breath.
You can always come back to your breath.
Now,
Imagine a warm,
Calming light at the center of your chest.
This light represents safety and balance.
With each inhale,
The light grows gently brighter.
With each exhale,
It spreads softly through your body.
It moves through your shoulders,
Down your arms,
Into your hands.
It flows through your chest,
Your stomach,
Your hips,
Down your legs,
Into your feet.
Your entire body wrapped in calm.
Your nervous system is designed to return to balance,
Even after stress,
Even after overwhelm.
Your body knows how to come back to steadiness.
Take a slow breath in,
And a long breath out.
Feel your heart beating steadily.
Feel your breath supporting you.
Feel the quiet stability within you.
Know that this is always here.
Take a moment to simply rest here.
There's nothing to change,
Nothing to achieve.
Just breathe.
Notice how your body feels now,
Compared to when you began.
Perhaps a little softer,
A little slower,
A little more grounded.
These small shifts are powerful.
Take one slow,
Deep breath in,
And release it gently.
Bring awareness back to the room around you,
Noticing the surface beneath you,
The sounds nearby,
The space around you.
Begin to move your fingers and your toes,
And roll your shoulders softly.
If your eyes are closed,
Gently open them when you're ready.
Carry this steadiness with you.
You can always return to yourself.
Your calm is always within reach.
Take in one more deep,
Nourishing breath,
And take this calm with you into the rest of your day.
