Hello and welcome to this morning meditation.
My name is Rachel and I'm going to be your guide today.
If you're a sensitive soul you're likely someone who absorbs the emotions and energies of others.
This practice helps you set a boundary so that you can connect with compassion without taking on what isn't yours.
Just finding a comfortable position with a tall spine and softly close down your eyes.
Notice your natural breath without changing anything.
Just observing the rhythm of the inhale and the exhale for a few moments.
Our breath is our anchor,
Our way back to presence in a world that is often rushing and pulling and prodding for our attention.
Now just taking a deep breath in through the nose and a long audible exhale through the mouth.
Letting go of what is no longer needed.
Repeating this two more times as you inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Repeating this one more time as you inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Now just gently shifting your awareness to your feet.
Notice where they connect with the earth and just imagining your feet with roots extending down into the earth from the soles of your feet.
These roots extend deeper and deeper,
Grounding you in yourself and your energy,
Keeping you rooted and stable no matter how turbulent the outside world may seem.
And now bringing your awareness from your feet up to the crown of your head.
And imagine a sphere of protective light moving from the crown of your head,
Shining outwards,
A protective orb of light surrounding your body.
This light might be gold or white or purple,
Whatever color resonates with you.
And with each deep breath,
This light gets brighter and stronger,
Grows and expands.
This is your energetic boundary.
It allows you to shine brightly,
It allows you to extend compassion to others,
But it protects you from things that you do not need to take on.
See this sphere glowing and shining brightly around you.
Protective,
Powerful and yours.
And just simply sitting with this for a few more moments,
Feeling the warmth radiate.
You can be compassionate without absorbing,
You can care without carrying and this light will travel with you throughout your day.
Whenever you feel pulled or heavy,
Know that you can return to this visualization.
You can return to this boundary anytime.
And just begin to take a deep breath in and out,
Maybe gently noticing any sounds around you.
Gently wiggling your fingers and toes,
And bring your hands to your heart center.
And just silently or out loud affirming this affirmation.
I move through my day,
Grounded and protected.
I move through my day,
Grounded and protected.
And when you're ready,
You can slowly open your eyes.
