Welcome to hanging out with your future self meditation.
My name is Rachel,
And I'm going to take you on a journey to spend some time with your future self.
This person already exists within you in another reality,
But we are going to meet with them today so that you can get familiar with this future self.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position whether you are lying down or seated,
Whatever feels best to your body in this moment.
Allow yourself to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
Focus in on your inhale as you fill up your belly and exhale big sighs out your mouth.
Really give yourself an opportunity to rest here and arrive here.
Knowing that whatever is waiting for you on the other side of this journey today will still be there and does not require your attention right now.
If you find your mind wandering,
Or you feel as though there are lots of thoughts coming up for you during this meditation,
Just ask them to come back later that you will revisit them when this journey is complete.
Now I want you to imagine yourself in a beautiful forest.
It can be filled with any trees that you desire,
Whether they are full of beautiful colorful leaves,
Or just covered in pine needles and pine cones.
Just taking your surroundings and allow yourself to really feel into this space.
You feel really refreshed here in this forest,
And you notice a path in front of you.
You decide to take the path,
Because it looks so enticing.
And as you walk down the path,
You take in more sites of the forest.
Maybe there are other little shrubs,
Trees,
Flowers,
Maybe even a little critter or two.
Whatever comes up,
Just enjoy this little walk through the woods.
Take it in and allow yourself to relax even deeper now.
As the path starts to fade,
You notice a gate up ahead.
A big beautiful metal gate.
And you approach this gate,
And you have a nudge to open the gate to discover what's on the other side.
As you open the gate,
You notice that there is another path that is ready for you and is inviting you to follow it.
And you continue along this path,
Noticing that the woods around you start to disperse a little more,
And more of this area just opens up.
There is a big beautiful field in front of your vision now,
As you continue to walk slowly on this path.
And even further,
You begin to see what looks to be some sort of structure in the foreground.
And you notice it looks like a house.
So you decide to continue forward on this path that leads to this house.
As you approach this house,
You start to pick up on little details that are familiar to you.
That are little details of a home that you once dreamt of.
And you cannot help but get closer to this house,
So that you can take in all of its beauty.
As you get closer to this home,
You notice this big beautiful window facing you.
This window is unobstructed and so inviting.
So you decide to walk toward this window so you can sort of preview the inside of this home.
As you start to get closer to the window and look inside,
You start to feel a sense of familiarity here.
You start to see different items,
Pieces of furniture,
And decorative pieces that are familiar to you.
And you start to recognize them as artifacts from your life.
And you can't help but wonder if this is your home.
As you are taking in these elements and you continue to look around,
You notice a figure in the background.
And you begin to watch them a little closer.
And notice they have this big smile on their face.
And as you continue to observe them in the home,
You recognize them.
They look so familiar.
And you start to realize that this person is you.
This person is your future self.
You take note of what they're doing in this home.
Maybe they are sitting by the fire and reading a book.
Maybe they are in the kitchen making a delicious meal.
Maybe they are doing something creative.
Whatever it is,
Just take a moment to notice them and observe what they're doing.
They look over from what they're doing and see you in the window.
And they are not at all surprised that you are there.
Because they have been waiting for you.
They smile at you even bigger now.
The smile grows so large.
And they gesture at you to come inside the home,
Waving you in.
And you are pulled to go inside the home.
So you walk around from the big window to the front door,
Which opens easily for you,
Welcoming you in.
And you notice,
Smell,
A feeling,
A sound,
Something familiar that shows you and confirms for you that this is your home.
This is your space.
Your future self comes around the corner and welcomes you in,
Reaching for you and giving you a big hug.
They hold you closely and they just surround you with all this love and gratitude because they are so excited you're here with them.
They've been waiting for you for a long time.
You can feel that,
Can't you?
That longing they've had to spend time with you.
As they invite you into your home,
They offer to spend some time with you,
To connect with you.
And together you two choose an activity.
Maybe you two decide to spend a few minutes catching up by the fire.
Maybe your future self takes you on a tour of the home and property.
Or maybe they simply invite you to do something creative,
Something that you truly enjoy.
Whatever that activity is,
Allow yourself to engage with them and pay attention to how they show up.
How are they presenting themselves to you?
Are they joyful?
Are they grateful?
Are they vibrant?
Healthy?
What do they embody?
How are they allowed to fully express themselves?
Notice all of these things while you spend these next few moments together.
You are the light of the world.
You are the light of the world.
As you are wrapping up your activity now,
Go ahead and ask your future self any question you have about what you need to know to help you align with this future self.
And allow them to give you a response.
Take a moment to really hear them,
To really take in their words.
Once you have received your words,
Go ahead and give them a hug.
Thank them for spending time with you today,
For being in this space,
And for giving you some insight on how you can align with this higher and future self.
As they walk you to the door,
They hand you a small gift,
Something to remind you of your time together.
Maybe it was something you created today,
Or maybe it was something that they've held onto for a long time and want you to have.
Whatever it is,
Take that gift and thank them one more time.
And allow them to remind you that you are welcome back in this space anytime because this is your home,
This is your reality,
And this is your future possibility.
As you thank them and you exit the home,
You find that path again that's leading you back into the woods.
You are feeling so grateful as you are walking back down this path.
Your heart is filled with joy and excitement about your future,
And your heart is so full.
As the path winds down,
You notice that gate again.
You go ahead and go through the gate and notice a new path.
You follow that new path through these dense woods that we started in,
Taking in the sights and sounds again of the woods,
Taking in all the trees,
The fresh air,
The abundance of life here.
As you begin to recognize that you are right where you began this journey,
Take a moment to take a nice big deep cleansing breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Go ahead and wiggle your toes and your fingers.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and blink your eyes open to arrive back into the space.
I encourage you to take a moment or two to jot down the message your future self gave you and any reflections or notes you have about the gift they offered you as well.
This will allow you to really anchor in this new future version of you.
And you are welcome to visit them in this space anytime.
