Hello,
My name is Jacqueline and I am a very proud grandma.
I enjoy creating guided meditations for my grandchildren and I am very happy to share them with you too.
Christmas can be an exciting time of year for many of us,
But sometimes we forget that it's not always about giving and receiving material gifts.
Kindness and showing we care is a far greater gift to give someone and a magical thing to do,
Not just at Christmas,
But any time of year.
During this meditation,
We are going to think about gifts we can give others which will only cost us time and not money.
So let's begin.
Make yourself comfortable either sitting or lying down and slowly allow your eyes to close.
Take a deep breath in and gently breathe out as you allow your body to relax.
Take another deep breath in and slowly breathe it out.
Now let your breathing become nice and steady as you feel yourself relaxing more and more.
We are going to begin by thinking about three things we can do for our parents.
It could be making them their favourite drink or putting our things away tidily.
What can you think of doing for your parents?
Now we are going to think of three things we can do to help wild animals.
It could be putting out bird seed and water for the birds or creating a warm environment with fallen leaves and twigs for hedgehogs and insects.
What can you think of doing to help wild animals?
Next,
We are going to think of three things we can do to help the environment.
It could be picking up litter when we see it or recycling more things around our house.
What can you do to help the environment?
Now we are going to think of three things we can do to help the world.
We could show more kindness to others or let the people we care about know how much we love them.
What else can you do to help the world?
And lastly,
We are going to think of three things we can do for ourself.
We can believe in ourself.
We can talk kindly to ourself.
And we can exercise our mind and body every day.
What else can you do as a special gift to yourself?
Now it's time to come back to the moment.
Take a breath in as you wiggle your toes and fingers.
And as you breathe out,
Gently open your eyes.
Notice how you are feeling.
You should feel happy and positive with more understanding of the gift of kindness.
You can return to this meditation at any time,
Not just at Christmas,
But any time you need inspiration with being kind and helpful to others to brighten their day and yours.
Because the gift of caring creates a warm glow all around.
Now before I go,
I would like to ask you a question.
What gift of kindness will you give this Christmas?
Thank you for spending this time with me.
In the comments,
Let me know how this meditation has helped you today.
Bye for now.
