I was in the checkout line in a grocery store and somebody had dropped a whole bunch of chocolate chips and as they were going through,
You know,
I just kind of used my feet to kind of bring all the chocolate chips together because I didn't have anything else to do and just seemed like of course I'd do that.
And when I got to the checkout gentleman he made a big deal about this and said how great it was that I'd done this and how he always commended people for doing something selfless.
And interestingly enough a woman had passed by with a big smile on her face and said,
You know,
That's not your job.
You don't have to do that.
And I'm going,
No,
But I'm not doing anything so here I am in line so I'm happy to do this.
Anyway,
He was 20 and I talked to him a little bit more and he said,
You know,
He said,
I don't know what's happening to common decency and common sense.
And I thought,
I said to him,
Like if we're producing people at 20 who are like you,
We're doing something right.
It was just so refreshing.
What a lovely gentleman.
But anyway,
On the heels of this,
I was in a restaurant and I saw a waiter being very,
Very kind to a client.
Extremely kind.
And so as,
You know,
I paid my bill,
I complimented him.
The same principle as this young man saying,
You know,
That he fanned the flame.
He commended people who did something unusually sweet.
And it's like,
I live like this too.
And so I expressed this to this young man and,
You know,
He was so touched.
And he said his mom had taught him to be like this with people.
And I thought,
This is so great.
This is so what we need.
This is simple humanity.
Anyway,
It spurred me to make this video.
Okay,
So bless your hearts.
May you find much kindness in your lives and may you offer it.
Yeah,
Because when we offer it,
We become bigger in ways that are really hard to explain.
They're hard to put words to,
But we just get bigger.
Yeah.
Expressing love and kindness makes us bigger.
I don't know.
It's kind of a magic thing.
And you'll find it as you do it.
Okay,
Bless your hearts.
