I think sometimes we can forget that teachers had a past,
Since they weren't always so wise.
I think it's important to remember that.
That,
You know,
Ignorance comes before wisdom.
And it's just the person who really like refuses to give up,
Who just keeps going no matter what.
Who's the most sincere,
I guess,
Who finally makes it to some peace and understanding.
But,
You know,
It's not magic.
It's just the willingness to pray with real sincerity and the willingness to,
You know,
Look at yourself and be prepared to see warts and ugly spots.
And then,
You know,
Sincerely call on the universe to help heal you.
You know,
I didn't laugh for 10 years,
Really.
I mean,
It's part of why I laugh so much now,
Because I was so relieved to sort of understand the joke behind our lives that,
You know,
We're here to learn and we're divine beings.
So we may screw up really badly,
But really it's just like a dream and we'll wake up from the dream.
And you can wake up from the dream while you live your life and forgive yourself.
Or you know,
You wake up from the dream when you pass over and you go,
Oh,
What was that?
Anything we do,
It's really just a dream.
So it has no permanence.
So you know,
The things that seem so serious here aren't really.
And all our rules and regulations,
Just dream rules and regulations,
The reason we're here is to experience divine love,
Experience God and share God,
To experience unconditional love and share it.
And that's the highest morality there is.
So you know,
I didn't laugh.
And for another 10 years,
I never read a book because I was so,
Felt that I was so stuck in my head.
I'd been so imprinted intellectually that I'd lost touch with my body and my heart.
And so I just didn't read for really 10 years.
I just stayed with my experience.
And they were actually a different 10 year period.
But really,
I didn't laugh.
I was the most serious person.
And you know,
Scared at the same time,
Scared that really all the darkness was true.
And that I never surface.
I really know what that feels like.
And you know what,
Just keep going.
Because there is something in you that is eternal,
That is just beyond any thought you have or anything you feel stuck in.
It's eternal,
It's infinitely wise and powerful and it's steering your existence.
Well if you let it,
If you,
You know,
Ask it to and ask for help.
Yeah.
And you will be brought out of difficulty.
Really you know,
For the spiritual seeker,
The clouds come and then the sunshine comes.
It's kind of a,
You know,
First of all the darkness comes and then the prayer to see through the darkness,
Ask for guidance.
And then there's a shift into the light,
Into understanding yourself and into being able to share universal love.
You know,
To feel it in yourself and then share it.
And then the next step comes.
You know,
It's like climbing a mountain.
And the darkness comes again or the difficult terrain.
And then you know,
The light comes.
If you keep steering towards the light,
It will come.
And your problems will get solved.
And you'll get the next lesson.
And it's,
You know,
If things are getting too intense for you,
You can ask that for it all to be slowed down so that you can catch your breath.
Really the universe will listen to you.
Your soul will listen to you.
But please,
You know,
Forgive yourself and believe in yourself.
So you know,
Really like for 10 years I didn't laugh.
I wasn't really much fun to be around,
But I still believed in myself,
You know.
So just keep going.
Okay,
Just keep going.
Yeah,
We,
You know,
Really,
I think we can all turn into laughing Buddhas finally,
Really.
And you know,
Hopefully while we're still here on the earth plane,
And we can shine our lights and,
You know,
Help others.
Okay,
Bless your heart.
