In today's exercise,
I am going to take you on a guided imagery of a beautiful and magical forest.
Guided imagery has been scientifically proven to promote relaxation,
Lower blood pressure and relieve stress.
But before I do that,
Please remove all distractions around you.
Make yourself comfortable by sitting on a chair or sitting on the ground or lying on your bed.
In the next few minutes,
Completely detach yourself from your current thoughts.
Detach yourself from the things to do on your list and detach yourself from your worries during this visualization exercise.
I am going to take you to a beautiful and magical relaxing forest.
Please involve your sight,
Smell,
Sound,
Taste and touch senses.
The more senses you involve,
The more relaxed you would feel.
Please completely focus on your senses.
Now gently close your eyes or lower your gaze.
Imagine you are walking in a deep forest.
As you are walking down the path,
You get totally immersed in its brilliant colors,
Sounds and the smells of the forest.
Focus on the forest and how it feels to you.
All around you are pine trees,
Tall,
Lush green grasses,
Mossy ground covers and mesmerizing beautiful flowers.
As you further look around you,
You see a flock of birds situated on the top of a pine tree.
The birds are now chirping,
Warbling and whistling.
You can clearly hear the birds singing,
Caroling and communicating with each other to express their sentiments of harmony and love.
The chirping of the birds is coming in a chorus like a melodious musical symphony.
You are now completely immersed and enjoying the musical symphony of the birds.
Take a few steps further down the path of the forest.
You come across a beautiful apple tree in front of you.
You notice the tree is tall and has lush green leaves.
You can also see now that the tree is bearing red apples.
These apples are looking bright red,
Juicy and delicious.
You can see these apples in different red clusters on the tree.
They are looking like beautiful red ornaments on a green tree.
You are simply in awe with this beautiful sight of the tree.
You take a few steps ahead and pluck a delicious and ripe apple from the tree.
You take a gentle bite of the glossy red apple.
The bite is crunchy and crispy.
After you take the bite,
You can immediately feel the watery juices of the apple flowing in your mouth.
You can sense the sweetness of the apple and notice that the apple is not sour.
The apple is not too sweet also,
But it is at a perfect level of sweetness that you like and enjoy.
You are now completely savoring the taste of the delicious red apple.
As you finish munching the apple,
You can now feel a gentle breeze that is also swaying the apple tree.
You can feel the coolness of the breeze on your face.
You can feel the gentle breeze through your hair and on your head.
Notice the cool breeze on your forehead,
Your closed eyes,
Over your ears,
And over your cheeks.
You close your eyes to absorb this wonderful sensation.
You spread your arms wide open to embrace this feeling within you and your soul.
You are feeling completely relaxed and liberated now.
Through your nose,
You take in a deep breath of this fresh,
Natural,
And purest form of air.
You can smell the rich dampness of the forest floor.
You can feel the freshness of the air as you deeply inhale it.
With the gentle breeze,
You can smell a sweet and fruity fragrance of the wild flowers of the forest.
The sweet scent is very intoxicating to you and you are simply loving and enjoying this beautiful scent.
Let yourself immerse entirely into this relaxation while continuing to be aware of sights,
Fragrances,
Sounds,
And feel of the forest around you.
Now slowly,
You turn around and walk back down the forest path through which you initially came in.
You realize you may come back anytime to this forest through this exact same path.
You are now at peace and feel completely relaxed.
