How Sound Shapes Your Mind And Body
In this video, I explain one of the most important foundations for understanding how sound works: Music is vibration, and vibration is frequency. I explore how sound waves interact with the body, the nervous system, and the brain, and why different sounds can naturally influence our mental and emotional states. By understanding these basic principles, it becomes easier to see how music and frequencies can support relaxation, awareness, and inner balance in everyday life. If this video or my music has touched your heart or supported your healing, you can leave a small donation here on Insight Timer. Every contribution helps me create more soundscapes to uplift and heal others. Giacomo Franzoso, founder of Point of Attraction Sound.

Hello everyone and welcome.
I decided to record this video to talk about,
Well,
How sound actually shapes you and also the hidden power of vibration.
So let's just take a moment together,
Just for a second,
Okay?
Pause and notice the sounds around you right now.
Maybe it's totally silent or maybe there's like a distant noise or a subtle hum in the room,
Right?
Most of the time,
We don't really think about sound.
It's just there in the background of our lives,
That's for sure.
But the truth is,
And this is the fascinating part,
Sound is constantly interacting with your body and your nervous system,
Even when you're not really paying attention to it,
Okay?
My name is James,
And I work with sound,
Music,
And frequencies for meditation,
Healing,
And also nervous system regulation.
And what I'd like to share with you today is a very simple idea.
Something that can literally change how you experience music and sound in your daily life.
Everything you hear is vibration,
Okay?
Music is vibration and vibration is frequency.
For instance,
Every sound that reaches your ears is actually a movement traveling through space.
And we measure these in Hertz.
And I know that it might sound a little bit technical,
But it's really just a way to count how many times something vibrates in one single second.
And now I'm not going to go too deep into the science right now because I actually created a specific course here on Insight Timer where I go much deeper and further into all of that.
But for today,
You know,
Just think of it like this.
One hertz.
Is one vibration per second,
While 100 hertz is 100 vibrations per second.
417 hertz is 417 vibrations per second,
Okay?
Simple enough,
Right?
But it becomes very powerful when you realize that your body itself is also a vibrational system.
Think about it.
Your heart has a rhythm.
Your brain produces electrical waves.
And even your cells in the body are constantly moving and communicating with each other.
And actually,
Brainwaves are also measured in hertz.
When you're active and focused,
For example,
Your brainwaves are fast.
When you start to relax,
You know what I mean?
They naturally slow down.
And,
You know,
Sound can interact with these rhythms,
Not by forcing anything at all,
But by just.
.
.
You know,
Gently supporting the states your body already knows how to enter.
That's it.
And I'm sure you've felt this before,
Haven't you?
Think about this.
Think about I don't know,
Rain or ocean waves,
Within seconds your breathing slows down and your mind gets quieter.
But the thing is,
Sound usually reinforces the state you're already in,
Okay?
So let's say if you.
.
.
If you're sad and listen to sad music,
You might feel that emotion even more.
Or if you're working out and listen to high energy music,
It pushes you even further.
That's why I work with specific tools like solfeggio frequencies and binaural beats.
So fetal frequencies are pretty much historically associated with balance.
And viral beats.
Well,
They play two slightly different sounds in each ear to help your brain shift into a calm and meditative state And like I mentioned before,
My course here on Inside Timer called The Power of Frequency covers all of this in detail.
But honestly,
You don't need to study the theory to benefit from it,
Okay?
Sound really works best when it's felt,
Not just understood,
Okay?
And if you're curious to explore this more,
I have many tracks here on Insight Timer for sleep,
Meditation,
Healing,
Emotional balance,
Where you can experience these frequencies for yourself.
But for now,
Just take a comfortable breath,
Allow your body to soften,
And start to play a little more attention to the soundtrack of your day.
