Tell About It
by Phil Simpson
Inspired by Mary Oliver’s invitation to “pay attention, be astonished, tell about it,” this gentle guided practice explores the final part of that journey: giving expression to what we notice and what moves us. You don’t need to be a writer, an artist or a storyteller. Telling about it might be a few words written in a notebook, a photograph, a conversation, a sound, a sketch — or simply acknowledging an experience to yourself. Through gentle guidance, spacious pauses, nature sounds and music, you’re invited to notice what has stayed with you and allow it to find its own form. There is nothing to perform and nothing to get right. Just an invitation to let something of your experience move from the inner world into the outer one. This is the third piece in the *Pay Attention • Be Astonished • Tell About It* series, inspired by the words of poet Mary Oliver.
