This prayer is your time to rest in God's presence.
Allow yourself to fully relax,
Knowing that as you fall asleep,
God is watching over you,
Guiding your heart and your dreams.
Let us begin.
Heavenly Father,
We come before you tonight,
Weary from the day,
But grateful for the gift of life you've given us.
Thank you,
Lord,
For the moments of joy,
The challenges that taught us,
And the peace that you offer us,
Even in the midst of our worries.
As the sun is set and the world quiets down,
We ask that your presence surrounds us like a blanket,
Bringing comfort and serenity to our souls.
Tonight,
Lord,
We ask for your divine protection.
Shield us from any harm,
Any fear,
Any darkness that tries to invade our minds or spirits.
Over us,
Lord,
In your wings of refuge.
For you are our safe place,
Our sanctuary.
Your word tells us that you never slumber nor sleep,
That you are always watching over us.
Let us rest in that truth tonight.
We surrender everything to you now.
Every anxiety,
Every burden,
Every unfinished task or worry about tomorrow.
We lay them at your feet,
Knowing that your hands are more than capable of holding them for us.
And so tonight,
We choose stillness.
We choose to trust in your power,
Your wisdom,
And your goodness.
Lord,
As we prepare to sleep,
Let us be mindful of your spirit moving within us.
Let our hearts soften to the gentle whispers of your love.
Speak to us in the quiet,
Reminding us that we are never alone,
That we are always under your watchful care.
Holy Father,
We ask that you bless our homes,
Our families,
And those we hold dear.
Surround them with your protection as they rest tonight.
May your angels stand guard at every door,
At every window,
Shielding us from anything that seeks to disturb our peace.
Jesus,
You are the Prince of Peace,
And so we invite your peace to reign in our hearts and minds now.
Let it wash over us like a calming wave,
Soothing every part of our being.
Help us release every tension,
Every tightness in our bodies,
As we surrender to your peace.
And now Lord,
As we continue in this prayer,
Let us hold on to one truth that we anchor deep in our hearts.
You are with us.
No matter what the day held,
No matter what the night brings,
You are with us.
You walk beside us,
You surround us,
And you go before us.
In this truth,
We find peace.
In this truth,
We rest.
Let us focus on our breathing,
Slowly inhale and exhale.
Let each breath be a reminder that God's Spirit is with you,
Filling you with life and peace.
Breathe in his love,
And breathe out any remaining worry.
Breathe in his peace,
And breathe out any fear.
As you continue to breathe slowly and deeply,
I want you to imagine God's presence filling the room.
Visualize a soft glowing light surrounding you,
Warm and comforting.
This is God's light.
Feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed,
Sinking deeper into his presence.
I want you to picture all your worries,
All your stresses,
Floating away like clouds.
I invite you to repeat in your mind,
God is with me.
Let this phrase become your anchor.
With every breath,
Silently say it to yourself,
God is with me.
Feel how these words calm you,
How they remind you of his constant presence.
As you repeat this,
Let it guide you deeper into relaxation.
Feel the weight of your body,
Feel how each part of you is supported,
Your feet,
Your legs,
Your arms,
Your back,
And your head.
Let each part of your body relax completely.
Feel God's peace flowing into every muscle.
Breathe deeply once more,
And as you do,
Feel yourself letting go of the day.
Imagine yourself resting in a meadow,
Under a vast sky filled with stars.
It's quiet,
And the air is cool and peaceful.
You're lying in soft grass,
Completely safe,
Completely at peace.
The stars above remind you of how vast God's love is for you,
And as you gaze up,
You feel yourself more and more ready to drift into a restful sleep.
God is with me.
Let it echo in your heart and mind.
God is with me.
His love is constant,
His protection sure.
Feel yourself gently drifting.
Sleep now,
In the peace of God's protection,
And when the morning light comes,
You will rise,
Refreshed and renewed,
Ready to face the new day under the shelter of his wings.
