Welcome.
My name is Otelia Bergström and I will be your guide through this meditation.
Before we get into it,
Make sure you're comfortable.
Place your body however you like,
Seated or laying down.
Grab a blanket if you feel a bit chilly and maybe a pillow under your seat or behind your head,
Depending on how you've placed your body.
Now close your eyes and become aware of your breath.
This is where we begin.
No matter who you are,
Where you're from,
Or what previous experiences you have from life in general,
You're human and that gives us a few things in common,
This one thing in particular.
There will be days when you lack in confidence.
This guidance is meant for those days.
This meditation was created for you to understand that you are so much more than those thoughts that might currently bug you.
You are something beyond your mind.
You are pure,
Bright,
Light.
I know that this might sound abstract and quite difficult for our human minds to grasp,
But let me guide you through it.
Trust this moment of yours.
Inhale deeply.
Exhale slowly.
Let your body soften.
Let's do that once more.
Inhale deeply.
Exhale slowly.
Soften.
Release any kind of tension that might linger within your body.
And since it's so easy to get stuck in thoughts within our mind,
See if that release of tension can have an impact also on your mind.
Release lingering thoughts.
As human beings,
We depend on our mind,
Meaning that we depend on our thoughts.
But it doesn't mean that we are what we think.
It simply means that we have the opportunity to transform our thoughts to support our entire being.
It is natural to some days think,
I am not good enough at this or that.
It is natural to doubt oneself every now and then.
But remember,
Those thoughts are not you.
Because you are pure,
Bright,
Light.
Now imagine this.
It's a sunny day and you're outdoors at a place where you feel safe and enjoy yourself.
The beams from the sun brings you a sensation of warmth upon your skin.
There's nothing to stress about.
You're exactly where you're supposed to be.
But for whatever reason,
You find that the sun shines a bit too bright,
So you put a pair of sunglasses on.
And as you put these shades on,
You notice how that bright light gets a bit dimmed.
With sunglasses on,
The sun even appears to be a different color.
In order to see the sun clearly again in all its glory,
You need to get the shades off.
The sun is of course a metaphor to your inner being,
Your bright light.
The sunglasses are a metaphor to your thoughts.
Some thoughts can color the mind within every single bright color of the rainbow and create happiness,
While other thoughts might instead dim that light of yours,
But it will never completely go away.
And even if it's easier to take a pair of sunglasses off your face,
It is possible for anyone to train their mind to take away the power and thereby the impact of negative thoughts.
You are not your thoughts.
What you think does not define your being.
Whatever thoughts you believe about yourself is simply a filter,
A layer on top of your bright light,
And you can decide when to take that filter off.
You can decide whether to give those thoughts power or not,
Because you are pure bright light.
Inhale fully and deeply.
Exhale softly and slowly.
Once again,
Notice your breath.
Breathe with awareness.
Imagine a bright sun within your mind.
It shines vibrant and pulses with your breath.
As you inhale,
The beams of the sun shines brighter.
As you exhale,
The brightness softens slightly.
Inhale,
Beams shine bright.
Exhale,
Brightness softens.
Inhale,
Brightness increases.
Exhale,
Brightness softens.
Stay with this image as focus for a few moments of meditation.
Inhale all that brightness into your entire being.
Exhale,
Soften your mind,
Release,
Let go.
Know that there will be moments,
Days,
Or even longer periods of time that will challenge you.
On those days,
Remind yourself that you possess the power to take those shades off.
You do not have to define yourself through negative thoughts,
Because you are not your thoughts.
You are pure bright light.
