Hello and welcome.
If you found yourself here,
You may be feeling like you've made a mistake in some area of your life.
And you're feeling some shame.
These affirmations are created to help you set your weapons down.
And make peace with yourself.
You see,
When we make a mistake,
Whether it be from a single incident,
In which we wished we'd handled it differently,
Or the one that feels most familiar to me.
An area of life where I just can't seem to break a pattern,
Even though I keep trying.
But this can cause us to start to think something entirely unhelpful.
What is wrong with me?
You probably know the cycle.
You find yourself replaying mistakes or the pattern over and over.
Thinking.
Why can't I seem to do things differently?
Will I ever learn?
No wonder.
Insert your own variation of the punishment you tell yourself you deserve here.
And what happens when we berate ourselves for not living up to the impossible standards we hold?
Nothing helpful,
That's for sure.
Like the poor child that grows up being told he won't amount to anything.
We set ourselves up.
For that self-fulfilling prophecy.
With these affirmations,
I hope that you can begin to have a different dialogue for yourself.
One that,
Like if it were done to that same child,
Can change the trajectory of what's possible for you.
When you begin to see yourself through the eyes of love.
When you speak into the potential of all that you may be capable of and acknowledge more of what you do well,
Rather than fixating on your flaws,
You will see that what you focus on grows and expands through your life.
So please.
Save this track to come back to anytime the harsh critic starts in on you,
And come back to remember that trying and failing and slipping and bouncing back are all a part of the human experience.
And you are a human after all.
Worthy of love.
Compassion.
And being held in the highest light.
No matter what.
Now as I say these affirmations,
You may repeat them silently or aloud.
And maybe even take mental note of the ones that resonate most,
So you can hold them close as you go through your day,
Allowing this to be a practice that transforms how you see yourself.
And dissolves the harsh critic's power so that you can be free.
Now let's get started.
I made a mistake?
And I am still worthy of love.
I made a mistake.
And I am still worthy of love.
This pattern is something I'm working through,
Not proof of who I am.
This pattern is something I'm working through,
Not proof of who I am.
I am allowed to still be figuring this out?
I am allowed to still be figuring this out.
My mistakes and challenges do not define me.
My mistakes and challenges.
Do not define me.
I release the replay of what I cannot change.
I release the replay of what I cannot change.
I hear the harsh inner critic.
And I no longer hand it the might.
I hear the harsh inner critic,
And I no longer hand it the mic.
I do not owe this mistake any more of my time.
I do not owe this mistake.
Any more of my time.
I choose to focus on how far I've come,
Rather than how far I have to go.
I choose to focus on how far I've come,
Rather than how far I have to go.
I see myself through the eyes of love.
I see myself through the eyes of love.
I focus on what I do well,
And that is what grows.
I focus on what I do well,
And that is what grows.
I trust myself to keep learning and growing.
I trust myself to keep learning and growing.
I am becoming who I decide to be,
Not who my mistakes said I was.
I am becoming who I decide to be.
Not who my mistakes said I was.
I am worthy of compassion,
No matter what.
I am worthy of compassion.
No matter what.
Grace gets me here faster than blame ever could.
Grace gets me here.
Faster than blame ever could.
