It may have been many times in your life.
When you have looked at other people.
And wondered why something seemed easier for them.
Why certain things appeared to come naturally.
While you found yourself working twice as hard.
Just to find your way through the day.
And perhaps there have been moments.
When you wondered if you should be different.
A little less sensitive.
A little less affected.
A little less you.
If I could sit beside you for a moment.
There's something I would want you to know.
You were never meant to be anyone else.
Not because life has always been easy.
And not because you have never struggled.
But because there has only ever been one you.
The world is full of oak trees and wildflowers,
Mountains and rivers,
Sunflowers and snowdrops.
None of them are trying to become each other.
A rose does not spend its life wishing it were a daisy.
The sea does not apologize for not being a forest.
Each belongs.
Because it is what it is.
And perhaps there is something in that for us.
So many of us spend years trying to fit ourselves into shapes that were never made for us.
Years wondering if we are too much of one thing and not enough of another.
Years believing that our differences are flaws rather than part of what makes us who we are.
Perhaps you move through the world differently.
Perhaps you need more quiet,
More space,
More time.
Perhaps your mind works in ways that other people do not always understand.
Perhaps you notice things that others miss.
Perhaps you feel things deeply.
Perhaps some things that seem simple for other people.
Feel difficult for you.
But does not make you less.
Does not make you wrong.
And it does not make you a problem to be solved.
You do not have to earn your place here.
By becoming more like someone else.
You do not have to prove your worth.
Through busyness.
Through productivity.
Or through fitting in.
Your value does not begin.
When you finally become the person you think you should be.
It is already here.
It always was.
And I hope that one day.
.
.
You will stop looking at yourself through the eyes of people who cannot see your heart.
I hope you will stop measuring your life against paths that were never meant for you.
And I hope you will begin to offer yourself.
The same kindness.
The same understanding.
And the same compassion.
That you so freely offer to others.
Because there is only one you.
There has only ever been one you.
And that is something beautiful.
You were never meant to be anyone else.
You were only.
.
.
Ever meant to be yourself.
