I provided a self-affirmation guided meditation to be imperfect and accept ourselves. If we are willing to escape the prison of perfectionism, we can be fun, playful, creative, humble, and more innovative. Please let me know in your comments if you enjoyed it and how I can improve. Thank you.

In this lighted meditation,

We are going to focus on imperfection and perfection and self-acceptance and self-compassion.

Take a comfortable position.

You can sit,

Stand,

Lie down.

Just make sure that you are kind of feeling the connection to Mother Earth.

That is nourishing all of us and holding us and giving us home.

Connect with that,

The Mother Earth,

And get comfortable.

And let's begin with three deep breaths.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

So this particular moon is a picture that was taken the day before full moon.

And that is kind of what sparked my thought about using this moon as a metaphor for imperfection.

And I started also thinking about how we all struggle with this.

Because whether it is the social media,

Whether it's the achievement orientation of society,

Whether it's the achievement orientation that we've got ourselves or conditioned by our family.

And so we start getting attached with this idea of being perfect,

Of being right all the time.

And then when I looked at this moon,

I thought,

This is one day short of full moon.

It's not perfect.

And is this any less beautiful?

Is this any less soothing?

Is this any less important?

And so that's,

And that reminded me also of the the Persian story of the Persian drugs,

The legendary Persian rug makers,

Who were actually could have been perfect.

They always made one not wrong.

Because in that context,

Perfection only belongs to God.

And even if we are not necessarily and I'm definitely not religious,

I believe in that kind of notion.

But the idea of actually looking at what is our one not that we can afford to be imperfect.

And how can we be free to be imperfect.

So,

I invite you in this practice to look at the moon and look at its beauty,

Its power,

Its,

And it's still imperfect,

Moon waxes and wanes and we all connect to nature very deeply.

And we all are conditioned by nature.

And if nature and moon can wax and wane and still be beautiful and still be so important in the life of our artists and poets and,

You know,

People that love the moon to look at it and enjoy it and the tide,

You know,

The moon controls the winds and the tides and so here's the imperfect moon is still a very powerful moon.

And it's still a beautiful moon,

And I would like you to transfer the same acceptance to yourself that you can be imperfect you can be free to be perfect so.

So with this,

You know,

Give yourself the permission.

I allow myself to be imperfect.

I am free to be perfect.

I am valuable,

Even if I am imperfect.

I accept myself,

Even if I am imperfect,

Even when I am imperfect,

Because perfection is a moment,

Like the moon.

Sometimes perfect,

Sometimes imperfect,

Sometimes in between,

I accept all of myself in whatever stages of perfection I am.

And I give myself permission and freedom to be liberated from seeking perfection all the time.

And when that moment happens,

I accept it gracefully,

Gratefully,

But I'm not going to limit myself from trying new things,

From putting out what I have,

Because I'm judging myself.

So,

I accept myself as I am.

I accept myself with all my imperfections.

I give myself permission to be imperfect,

Permission to experiment,

Permission to try,

Permission to share myself without the pressure of imperfection.

So let's conclude with three deep breaths.

Inhale.

Compassion.

Wounds cooling light.

Exhale.

Gratitude.

Exhale.

Self acceptance.

Exhale.

Joy.

Inhale.

Self compassion.

Exhale.

Freedom and liberation.

Thank you for joining me in this practice.

Have a beautiful day.
