In this very brief meditation,

I want to walk you through connecting to your favorite place.

Some of us are kind of mountain people,

Some of us are rich people,

And some of us connect to the woods,

The water,

And for some of us it could be the favorite place you grew up in,

And for some of us it could also be a place that I season.

So this is one of my favorite places in New York City,

Close to me,

And every day I walk,

I take a look at this.

So it's a place that makes me feel very alive and connected and joyful and grateful.

And you know,

Same way I connect to the place that I grew up in,

When we have good relationships.

So what I wanted to do is,

As usual,

Take a comfortable seat or standing,

But make sure that you are connected to the Mother Earth,

Your feet are planted or seated on the floor,

Make sure that your sitting bones are planted on the ground and you can feel it.

You kind of pull yourself up in the safety that you're being held by love,

By Mother Earth.

And as usual,

I like to start with three deep breaths.

So inhale,

Exhale,

Inhale,

Exhale.

One more,

Inhale,

Exhale.

Now bring to mind your favorite spot.

It could be any place,

Any time from your life where you feel grounded,

Centered,

Joyful,

Like your best self in some ways.

And imagine in your mind's eye,

The place in all its glory could be a room which you have decorated to your taste.

Could be a window from which you view the world that brings you joy.

Each of us relate differently.

I always connect to horizons.

Horizons give me humility.

Like,

Oh,

That's the sky too,

I love the night sky.

Reminds us of,

Give us a perspective.

But also curiosity for me.

Because I feel like what's just right around the corner,

What's right at the edge.

I want to learn that.

I'm kind of curious about it.

So whatever it is that you feel,

And there are different locations that you feel in that particular special place that you have,

Connect to that and kind of put yourself in that,

In your mind's eye.

And reflect on what the place gives you.

Whatever that feeling is,

Try to kind of feel it and articulate it to yourself.

What does it make you feel?

But not from just your head,

But your body,

Pay attention to your body.

What does it feel to be in that spot?

And to feel grounded,

To feel powerful.

You feel joyful.

You feel more kind.

You feel curious.

And so whatever that is,

That makes that place special for you.

Connect with that deeply.

Then imagine that you can actually model this feeling.

Right?

I really do like the visualization because the brain is like a pre-visual organ.

So imagine that you're modeling this sense of one well-being,

One as joy,

Groundedness,

Warmth,

Affection,

Safety,

Some place like secure,

Safe.

Bottle that.

Imagine you have this cute little bottle that you can bottle that and you can put it safely.

You know that you can draw on it.

Yeah.

Superheroes,

If they don't know how to use their superpowers on their terms,

Then they need it on command.

They'll be like the rest of us.

And this could be your superhero moment where you can take this feeling of connection when you're having a difficult day,

When you're having a difficult moment.

But you can draw on that little jar,

That little bottle and say like,

Yep,

I know how to feel grounded and connected in the moment,

Even when things around me may be kind of a little bit chaotic or stress-inducing or anything anxious because ultimately we draw at this from inside.

So say thank you to that place for providing me with this sense of grounding in the home.

Whatever it gives you.

It's called place attachment.

You all have that.

And say thank you very much.

Let's close out this practice with three more deep breaths.

Inhale.

Whatever it is that place gives you,

Love,

Warm,

Security,

Curiosity,

Kindness,

Compassion,

Joy,

Peace,

And exhale gratitude.

Thank you.

Inhale.

Next.

Inhale.

And exhale.

So stay as long as you need to in holding and cherishing that feeling.

And remember that you can use it anytime.

Just turn on that switch and be in that space for a moment to connect and feel like that.

And over time you don't even need that place.

You can just feel the feeling of anchoring,

Safety,

Joy.

Whatever it is you need in the moment when they get stuck or things happen outside of the control.

But you have something within your control,

Within your inner sense.

So thank you very much for joining this practice.

I very much appreciate it.

Namaste.
