Welcome to a calming sleep story for kids and their parents,

A magical bedtime adventure and children meditation from the book Poppy's Magical Animal Adventures,

Written and illustrated by Tatjana Ploys.

Hi.

As we are stepping into a world of gentle adventures,

Let's first meet Poppy,

Who looks like a coyote mixed with a kangaroo,

Lays down like a froggy,

And snoozes like a sloth.

Poppy,

This special doggy,

Who smiles with her tongue out when she is happy and curls into a tiny ball when she is tired.

Poppy is sweet and smart,

Strong and kind.

She has big brown eyes and pointy ears,

And most importantly,

An adventurous spirit.

When Poppy and her family go camping in the mountains,

She meets eight animals in the wilderness.

They all share a special secret with her.

Do you want to know what they told me?

Poppy asks.

It is time for some magical animal adventures.

Poppy listens,

Listens,

Listens.

Can you hear that?

The secrets of nature,

Shoosh,

Whoosh,

In the great outdoors,

Wild woo,

Woohoo.

After a long night in the tent,

Poppy is ready to explore.

She starts on a hike,

Sniff,

Sniff,

Sniffing,

And look,

Look,

Looking around.

Do you want to know what she finds?

Poppy looks up and sees a big hawk flying closer toward her.

The hawk waves to Poppy and says,

Come fly with me.

I want to show you a new way to see.

Poppy walks,

Runs,

And all of a sudden is flying over the mountains on the back of the hawk.

From way up here,

I can see everything more clearly,

Where I want to build my nest and where to find the food that I need for life,

Says the hawk.

The hawk explains,

When you fly high,

You can change your point of view.

You have the power to change how you look at the world around you.

The hawk drops Poppy safely back on the ground and says goodbye.

Poppy holds out a flower to thank the hawk with a warm feeling in her heart.

This is the end of the hawk story.

Now let's take one deep breath together.

In and let it out slowly.

Can you feel your belly moving?

I hope you enjoyed meeting the hawk that showed Poppy and us that we have the power to change how we look at the world around us.

We can change our perspective and look at things from a higher point of view.

Let your body feel calm and cozy like a warm,

Soft cloud.

I hope you enjoyed the wisdom of the hawk and that you can take it into your dreams and fly high on the back of the hawk.

Poppy says goodbye.

Woof,

Woof.

Sweet dreams.
