Negative self-talk is the inner voice that judges you.
Doubts you.
And makes you feel like you are not enough.
It can sound like I am behind.
I can't handle today.
I am not doing good.
I am not good enough.
Sometimes it's not even words.
Just pressure,
Stress or heaviness in the body.
In this meditation,
We are not fighting it.
We are simply noticing it.
So sit comfortably.
Let your body feel supported.
You are here.
And not inside your thoughts.
Take a slow deep breath in.
In and out.
One more time.
Breathing in.
And breathe out.
Now.
Gently ask yourself,
Is there any negative self talk here right now?
Or was it already there in the background without me noticing it?
Just notice it.
No fixing.
No judging.
Because you are not the voice.
You are the one noticing it.
Now.
Bring one negative thought to mind.
That comes repeatedly in your mind.
Maybe.
That says I am behind.
I can't handle today.
I am not enough.
So notice any negative thought that runs repeatedly in your mind.
Notice how your body reacts to this dialogue.
Maybe that shows up in your body as tightness.
Or pressure.
Or heaviness.
Just notice it.
And once you find it,
Gently say inside.
Ah,
There you are.
Acknowledge that negative dialogue.
And now gently shift this thought.
Do more positive.
Instead of I am behind.
See,
I notice I'm having the thought that I'm behind.
And feel the difference.
The thought is there but it is not you.
Now imagine your mind like a radio.
Right now,
It's tuned to Critic FM.
Loud,
Repetitive,
Convincing.
But you are not stuck on this station.
Place a hand on your chest or your belly.
Feel your breath.
Now with each exhale.
Turn the volume down slightly.
Not silence,
Just less control.
I am not enough becomes softer.
I can't do this fades into background.
Now gently shift the dial of this radio station.
To a more calmer station.
A station where you sense clarity.
Steadiness.
Presence.
Maybe it says,
One step is enough.
This moment is enough.
I am allowed to move gently.
Let that voice be soft,
Natural and not forced.
You Now return to the body.
Where did the thought land?
Which part of your body?
Breathe there.
Inhale white light of peace and calm.
Exhale dark clouds of pressure and heaviness.
One more time,
Inhale calm and exhale pressure.
Now slowly come back.
Bring your awareness back to your room.
To the sounds in your surroundings.
The air that is touching you.
Slowly move your fingers and toes.
And when you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And remember this simple process.
Pause,
Notice and don't believe every thought automatically.
And if those thoughts returns,
Remind yourself.
I notice that I'm having that thought.
But I'm the one that is noticing them.
This is simple but very powerful tool to create distance from negative self-talk.
And return back to yourself.
This is Monika.
Thank you for joining me today.
Namaste,
See you in the next session.
