Welcome to the golden seed meditation.
This practice is designed to bring calm to your day so that you can feel confident and inspired.
When our nervous system is frazzled,
We find ourselves on high alert,
Unable to feel the magic of the moment that's right in front of us.
Yet when we calm our nervous system,
We begin to find the energy that's within and around us,
The energy that motivates us to action.
Confidence in our abilities returns along with a healthy dose of inspiration.
In this practice,
We'll use our breath to activate the relaxation response in the body,
Bringing an overall sense of calm to our state of being.
We'll allow the mind to quiet so that you have time to look inward to self-discovery.
We'll use visualization today for both calming and energizing.
Now please find a comfortable position either sitting or lying.
Get as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
Rest your shoulders away from your ears.
Relax your jaw.
Feel the space between your eyebrows smoothing out.
Get even more comfortable and relaxed.
For the next few minutes,
Your only job is to breathe,
To listen,
And to enjoy the process.
Take a deep inhale through the nose and an even deeper exhale through the mouth.
Do this two more times,
Being very intentional and slow.
Continue lengthening and deepening your breath,
Now breathing in and out through your nose.
As you activate the body's relaxation response,
You will feel your heart rate slow down with every exhale.
Now let your breath return to its natural rhythm and feel your body breathing.
Soften the whole body even more.
Let the body become heavy,
Very heavy,
And feel it melting.
The head is heavy,
The limbs are heavy,
The torso is heavy,
The whole body is heavy.
Feel yourself being grounded into the earth.
Now just hang out here with the earth beneath you.
Let go of any ideas,
Let go of any effort.
Feel total relaxation.
Imagine yourself as one with the earth,
Connected to everyone and everything.
If you wish,
Bring your left hand over your heart and place your right hand on top of your left.
Return attention to your breath now,
Right at your heart center.
Keep breathing and focusing on your heart.
Be quiet,
Very still and quiet.
See if you can hear your heart beating.
What is your heart telling you?
Listen very carefully,
Listen to your heart.
Trust that you have all the answers inside you.
They are encoded in your DNA.
Feel the peace and calm in your body.
Feel it in your heart.
Now you're going to set a sankalpa,
An intention.
Keep your intention simple and positive.
Make it something you want that's nourishing.
Make your intention in the present tense as if it's already happening.
Something like,
I am at peace or my life is peaceful.
Don't think too hard about your intention.
Let it arise naturally and spontaneously.
When you have this intention,
This sankalpa,
Let it resonate within you.
In other words,
Feel it throughout your body,
Especially at the heart.
Imagine this sankalpa is like a seed that you're planting.
Imagine this sankalpa is contained within a dandelion,
The funflower that as a child you love to find and make wishes as you blew the seeds away,
That dandelion.
The dandelion that represents abundant strength and power.
The dandelion whose seeds may carry your thoughts and dreams.
See this beautiful dandelion with a beautiful golden seed right at its center.
On this beautiful golden seed,
Your sankalpa is written.
State your sankalpa silently to yourself three times,
Quietly,
Internally and with meaning.
Now imagine yourself blowing the dandelion and watching the seeds float away.
See the golden seed and your sankalpa float away.
Imagine this golden seed with your sankalpa taking a beautiful flight before landing and being planted onto your heart.
That's right.
See the sankalpa written on your heart.
Take a deep breath.
Feel the peace resonate throughout your whole body.
Feel confidence that your sankalpa is planted and growing.
The seed is part of you.
Your sankalpa is written on your heart.
Know and feel that you can trust your heart and your intuition.
Know this deeply.
Place your hands over your heart.
Feel your heart growing and expanding.
Feel the lightness and energy.
Feel a sense of calm washing over you.
Feel the peace with all that is.
Feel the thought that everything you need is inside you.
You need nothing from the outside world or from other people.
You are internally calm and inspired.
Now repeat your sankalpa three times quietly,
Internally and with meaning.
Notice how your mind feels completely open,
Boundless,
Without barriers,
Restrictions or boundaries.
Take another deep breath.
When you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Continue with your day.
Come back to this sense of peace anytime you need simply by taking a few deep breaths and quietly repeating your sankalpa.
