Welcome to A Moment of Mindfulness brought to you by Farhana Kassam.
Thank you for joining me.
At this time,
I invite you to find a comfortable space where you will spend the next few moments.
You may either choose to sit on a chair or on a comfortable cushion on the ground.
Or you may simply lay down.
Whatever position you choose,
Please be sure to be comfortable.
In today's meditation,
We are going to practice surrender.
Surrender of all things,
All situations,
And all outcomes that are not in our control.
We are going to create a safe space where we can allow this moment to just be.
Where we release any temptation to take control.
Any mental,
Emotional,
Or physical grips that we are holding on to.
We're going to give ourselves permission to feel safe,
To simply let go.
Using our breath,
We're going to soften the space around us.
We are going to release tension that feels tight,
Obstructive,
Suffocating.
We're going to move through this practice with intention on purpose.
At this time,
I invite you to take a deep inhale through your nose.
Hold that breath for a moment as you intentionally surrender and release slowly,
Breathing out through your mouth.
Breathe in again,
In through your nose.
Hold it for just a moment,
And then slowly surrender out through your mouth.
As you slowly resume your natural breath,
Bring awareness to the physical body.
Notice where some gentle release has started to happen,
Where some softness has been created,
Where there might be some space.
Truly bring your attention to that area.
Notice how it feels in the body.
Allow yourself to be with this space.
Let's go ahead and invite another deep inhale through our nose,
Holding that breath for just a moment,
And then slowly releasing and surrendering out through your mouth,
Resuming the natural flow of the breath as you inhale and exhale through your nose.
Once again,
Bringing awareness and observation to the spaces and places of release where the tension has been surrendered and a soft space created.
You may notice the softness in your jaw or the back of your neck or your upper back,
Maybe in your shoulders,
Maybe in the belly.
Wherever that tension has been released,
Allow yourself to notice it and feel it.
Notice the flow of your breath at this time,
Bringing any awareness to any shifts.
Perhaps the breath feels softer and more relaxed.
Just continue to match that sweet surrender,
The softness.
Allow it to align with the flow of your breath.
When we hold on tight or try and control situations or people,
We begin to build tension in our bodies,
Tightness,
Discomfort,
Pain,
And happiness.
In these moments,
It is important to bring awareness and give ourselves permission for a simple pause,
A moment to be still,
A moment to notice,
And give ourselves permission to slowly let go in a way that feels safe,
In a way that will bring us back into alignment,
Alignment with our higher self,
Alignment where we will find peace and notice that sense of calmness.
So at this time,
I invite you to take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale with gratitude out through your mouth.
May the soft,
Peaceful calmness of this moment continue to move you through this day.
And I thank you for joining me and I honor you for your presence.
Namaste.
