As you prepare for your meta meditation,
Finding a comfortable seat,
Releasing any lingering muscular engagement.
And by lengthening to the crown of your head,
Opening up your heart,
Palms open to the sky,
Allowing this beautiful space of reception,
Meta,
Loving kindness,
Great compassion towards oneself.
Truly the starting point for any compassion or love for those outside of ourselves.
Breathe.
Notice organically as your chest rises and falls.
Without forcing,
Without controlling any thoughts within your mind,
Any physical sensation within your body.
And at times we practice meta meditation.
It gives us space to relinquish control and to connect with the most authentic piece of who we are from the inside out.
Allow your heart to open in a more intentional way.
May I be happy.
May I find peace and love deep within myself.
May I accept that life comes in waves.
May I accept that I have no control over what comes my direction.
May I accept that I have the beautiful power within myself to find peace and love by simply being connected.
May I find joy within even the smallest details within each and every day of life.
May I allow my heart to feel every sensation,
Pleasant and non.
May I release any judgment of myself for feeling any particular way.
And may I fully embrace the opportunity to come from a place of compassion for others around me.
Compassion for this moment as it rolls in.
Compassion for the thoughts,
The feelings,
The emotions,
The spiritual opportunities within each and every breath that I take.
