Little one.

It's time to get cozy and comfortable.

Find a spot where you can sit or lie down,

Somewhere you feel safe and warm.

Let your arms and legs relax,

And if you feel like closing your eyes,

Go ahead and let them close gently.

Take a big,

Deep breath in,

And let it all out.

Let's get ready for a little journey to a special place inside of your mind.

I want you to imagine a little seed in your hand.

This is a very special seed,

A magical seed.

The seed will grow into something amazing,

Something that holds all the things you're thankful for.

It's called the thankful tree.

Picture yourself finding a perfect spot in a beautiful meadow where the sun is shining gently and there is a beautiful,

Soft breeze.

You dig a little hole in the ground,

Placing the seed inside,

Then you cover it up with the dirt,

Patting it gently.

Now with each breath you take,

You give this little seed love,

Light,

And warmth.

Imagine roots growing down from the seed,

Deep into the earth,

Drinking up all the goodness of the soil.

And as you keep breathing,

You see a little sprout poking up from the ground.

This little sprout is your thankful tree.

Now imagine this sprout is growing with each breath you take.

It gets taller and taller,

Reaching towards the sky.

It grows branches that stretch out wide,

Creating a safe and cozy space just for you.

But something is missing.

This tree needs leaves,

Special leaves that hold all the things you're thankful for.

Let's start adding leaves one by one.

Think of something you're grateful for.

Maybe it's your family,

Or your friends.

Imagine that thought turning into a beautiful,

Glowing leaf on the tree.

See it shining softly,

Like it's filled with magic.

Now think of something else that makes you happy.

Maybe it's your pet,

Or a favorite toy,

Or a place you love.

Imagine this thankfulness turning into another glowing leaf.

Watch it appear on the branch,

Lighting up with warmth and love.

Keep adding more leaves,

Each one holding something you're grateful for.

You might think of your school,

Your teachers,

The kindness of your friends,

Or even the beauty of nature.

With each new thought of thankfulness,

A new leaf appears,

Glowing and shimmering on the tree.

As the tree fills up with these magical leaves,

You notice that the whole tree is glowing,

Spreading light and love all around you.

This light reaches out like gentle rays of sunshine,

Bringing peace to everything around you.

Take a moment to look at your thankful tree.

Notice how beautiful it is,

How every leaf is a part of you,

Filled with your gratitude and kindness.

This tree will always be here for you,

In your mind,

A place you can visit whenever you want to feel calm and thankful.

Now take a deep breath in,

And let it out slowly.

Feel yourself still surrounded by the warmth of your thankful tree.

Know that you can carry this feeling of gratitude with you throughout your day or your night.

When you're ready,

You can start to wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes,

Maybe giving yourself a gentle stretch.

And when you feel like it,

You can slowly open your eyes.
