A chakra balancing meditaion โto help align and balance the energy system within the body.
Transcript
This is a guided meditation for the chakra system and in terms of helping to balance and open the main chakras within the body.
The chakras are the energy centres in the body and they're located along the midline of the body and while we have many,
Many chakras there are seven main chakras in the body.
The lower chakras deal with our instinct while the higher chakras and those towards the top of the body deal with the mental side of things.
And balanced chakras can contribute to our wellbeing and therefore we need to have them open in order for this to happen.
And there are many techniques we can use to open and balance our chakras but this is just one of the many ways that we can do it and it's a guided meditation where I take you through each of the chakras.
It doesn't matter if you don't know an awful lot about the chakras or if you know a lot about the chakras.
It's a meditation that you can do every day or you can do once a week,
Once a month,
Whenever you're feeling a little out of balance.
Okay so I'm just going to play some music.
And if you just make yourself comfortable,
Close your eyes if you can,
Make sure that you're not going to be disturbed just for the next few minutes,
Maybe six,
Seven minutes.
And just begin by taking a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in,
Breathing in through the nose.
And just follow the breath as it travels down into the abdomen.
And then watch the breath as it travels back up through the lungs,
The upper chest and finally out through the mouth.
Just take a couple of breaths like this,
Just centering yourself and relaxing with each breath.
Notice how you relax more into the chair or if you're lying on the floor,
How you relax into the ground.
And then when you're ready I'd like you to take your attention to the root chakra.
This chakra is at the base of the spine so if you can just visualise an illumined red circle or a red rose opening up in the base of the spine.
And this red circle or red rose is turning in a clockwise direction.
Just see if you can see the energy or the life force running through this chakra,
Completely cleansing it and dissolving away any dark or shaded areas.
And next bring your attention to about four inches above the root chakra.
This is called your sacral chakra and it's located just below the navel and the colour of this chakra is orange.
So see if you can scan this chakra for any areas of darkness and then see if you can see the energy just running through the chakra,
Dissolving away any blockages and opening up this beautiful orange circle turning it in a clockwise direction.
And then move your attention to your stomach area.
This is the solar plexus chakra,
It's the powerhouse,
The centre of all your emotions and the colour of this chakra is a beautiful bright yellow.
So visualise if you can a beautiful sunflower.
And as you focus on this chakra allow any emotions that come up just to be there.
See if you can allow them to come up and just say to yourself if there are emotions that it's okay.
Visualise the energy running through the chakra as it comes up and opens into a beautiful sunflower,
Again turning in a clockwise direction.
And just be gentle with yourself,
Be gentle with any emotions that are coming up.
And next see the energy as it travels up to your heart chakra.
This chakra is emerald green in colour.
And see if you can visualise the colour emerald green in the centre of your chest.
And see the chakra opening up and turning in a clockwise direction,
Allowing the energy to dissolve away any blockages,
Usually blockages brought about by fear.
Scan your heart chakra,
See if you can detect any darkness and just notice it,
Notice it without judgement.
And see if you can release it.
Each time you do this it may be a little bit easier to release any judgement.
Just be gentle,
Be gentle with yourself as you walk through this process.
And then watch the energy as it travels up into your throat chakra.
This chakra is blue in colour.
And this chakra helps us to speak our truth and usually if we are holding back on anything the throat chakra can be blocked.
See if you can visualise the throat chakra,
The blue in the throat chakra opening up into a beautiful spinning circle.
Again visualising any dark areas,
Any shaded areas.
And see if you can watch the energy running through us,
Dissolving away these blockages.
And then move your attention to the area between the two eyes.
This is your third eye chakra.
Visualise a dark blue indigo colour.
Again spinning in a clockwise direction.
Scanning for any dark areas,
Any blockages.
Allowing the energy just to dissolve them away.
Dissolving away any negativity,
Anything that is standing in our way of our intuition.
And then move your attention to the top of your head.
Visualise energy as it spins through your crown chakra at the very top of your head.
Opening it up into a beautiful purple circle.
Occasionally you may see flashes of white and purple sparkles of light in the crown chakra.
And now visualise each of the seven chakras fully opened and aligned along the axis of your spine.
And sense how they are attuned to one another.
Balancing and centring the vital energy that maintains your health and your sense of wellbeing.
And when you are ready,
Gradually return your awareness to your room.
Become aware of the chair you are sitting in or the floor you are lying on.
Making the connection back into your body.
Perhaps gently moving fingers and moving toes.
Taking a long slow deep breath in.
And as you breathe out and whenever you feel ready,
Gently opening your eyes.
And just to recap on the chakra system,
Each of the chakras has a different area of the body.
We know they are all in different areas but they all are attuned to different organs in the body as well.
So the root chakra at the very base of the spine,
It promotes the physical survival.
Vitality,
Stability,
Patience,
Courage and material success.
It gives us our life force and helps our natural instincts and connects us to the earth.
And the navel chakra is also called the sacral chakra situated just below the navel.
And it generates our sexual energies,
Our creativity,
New ideas,
Passion and our energy.
It gives us physical force,
Vitality and strength.
The solar plexus chakra is located in the centre of the stomach,
Just below the rib cage and it gives us our sense of identity and personality.
It is like our powerhouse,
It promotes our confidence and our authority,
Our humour,
Our laughter,
Warmth and our inner glow.
And the heart chakra is the centre of the chest and this is our emotional centre that promotes love and compassion,
Understanding and sharing and forgiveness.
And then there is the throat chakra and this is in charge of our communication and our self-expression.
And so it builds the bridge between ourselves and the world around us.
And the third eye chakra is between the two eyes and promotes our vision,
Our intuition and our psychic abilities,
Our concentration and our self-knowledge and insight.
And finally the crown chakra at the very top of the head.
It promotes our positive thought patterns,
Our inspiration and our imagination.
And it is also in charge of our spiritual well-being.
It helps make the connection to the higher self and it constantly channels life energy into our whole system and it aligns and balances all the other chakras.
So do this meditation as often as you can and each time you are feeling a little bit out of balance or not quite yourself.
Hopefully it will help.
Namaste.

Thank you for this meditation! It is the first time I'm that I have actively sought out a meditation to deal with chakras. I realize now that I wasn't ready to understand and actively concentrate on specific areas I need to work on. It was just easier to group everything under one label. Now I realize it is time for me to focus on specific misconceptions I have that has been limiting my growth e g. low self-esteem, courage, etc. This was a great start in that it allowed me to see where the blockages are. Namaste.
