Hello and welcome.
My name is Makara Link and this is a guided meditation practice on embodying joy.
To begin,
I'd like you to find any comfortable position that works for you.
There isn't any specific posture your body needs to be in for this practice today.
Just get comfy.
And as you get settled,
I want you to check in with yourself.
Just notice how you're currently feeling and whatever or however that may be,
Let it be.
Where you're at right now is perfect.
And now turning your awareness to your breath.
Start sensing into your breath.
There's no need to change it in any way.
Just breathe and feel into each inhale and exhale.
Notice what it feels like to breathe.
Now I'd like you to think of a moment or experience that you had recently that brought you joy or happiness.
Even if it was the littlest thing,
Think of something that brought you joy.
And if you're having a hard time thinking of anything specific,
That's okay.
You can begin to create the feeling of joy.
Imagine what joy feels like and then begin to actually feel it in your body.
This is the part of the meditation I like to call generating joy.
Using your memory,
Thoughts,
And intention to generate the feeling of joy within.
Really feel into this joy.
Bring all of your awareness there.
And notice where in your body do you feel this joy.
Where is it located?
What qualities does it have?
What qualities does it have?
Now see if you can begin to grow this sense of joy.
Expanding it to become larger,
Stronger,
And more vibrant.
Maybe your body would like to shift or move in some way that further expresses this sensation of joy.
Maybe you smile or sit up taller.
Notice what your body would like to do.
Soaking in this energy of joy,
Feeling the joy of being able to move.
Soaking in this energy of joy,
Feeling it fully in your body.
It is safe to be happy.
Joy is natural.
It is who you are.
Seeing and visualizing it radiating out from you in all directions.
The more you come back to this sensation,
The more natural and effortless it will be.
And take a moment to seal this practice in with gratitude.
May this energy be with you for the rest of the day.
Now taking a deep inhale and on the exhale sigh it out.
Thank you for joining me for this practice.
