Allow yourself to have this moment without thinking about what you did before or what you have to do next.
Remind yourself that you deserve to take this moment for yourself to relax and disconnect.
Start by slowly looking around the room as if it was the first time you were seeing it.
Allow your eyes to move slowly,
Noticing the objects around you,
Noticing the colors,
Shapes,
Textures.
Allow your neck to move or your torso and notice what your attention is drawn to,
Being open and curious,
Just noticing without judgment.
Disconnect with the environment and affirm to yourself that you're safe right now.
If it feels comfortable,
Close your eyes and slowly become aware of the weight of your body,
Noticing the contact that your body makes with the surface beneath you.
Allow yourself to drop even more into the surface beneath you,
Letting it hold you.
Allow any sounds around you come to you with curiosity,
Without forcing anything.
And slowly become aware of your breath,
Noticing the expansion and contraction of your body when you inhale and exhale,
Noticing where you notice your breath,
Where you feel it,
Without trying to change it or analyze it,
Just allowing it to be as it is.
And remind yourself that you're okay just as you are right now.
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort without labeling anything as good or bad,
Just noticing.
Maybe you notice your shoulders or tension on your neck or jaw.
And as you continue to breathe,
Imagine that with each exhale you are releasing that tension and allowing your body to relax,
If it feels safe to do so,
Without any expectations,
Just really allowing this experience to be as it is.
Now visualize roots growing from the base of your spine deep into the earth.
Feel the stability and support of the ground beneath you.
These roots that go deep into the earth anchor you.
They help you feel secure and grounded in this moment.
While you visualize these roots,
Connect with the base of your spine,
Connect with the contact of your body with the surface beneath you,
Grounding and finding that sense of support and stability.
Now imagine a safe and peaceful place.
It could be a serene beach,
A tranquil forest or a cozy room Picture every detail of this place,
The colors,
The sounds,
The scents.
This is your sanctuary,
A space where you can let go of all the pressures and expectations.
Rest there for a while.
As an overachiever,
You may often carry the weight of your goals and responsibilities.
So I want you to take a moment to acknowledge these feelings and notice how they fill in your body.
Notice if you can locate them in any place of your body.
Notice if they have a color,
If they have a shape.
Connect with this somatic experience of those feelings connected to that weight of achieving,
Of performing.
Now imagine placing these responsibilities into a box.
A box that represents your achievements and tasks and visualize closing this box and setting it aside for now.
Remind yourself that it's okay to break free and to take a break from these expectations.
You are more than your accomplishments.
Bring your focus back to your breath and with each inhale imagine breathing in self-compassion.
Allow this feeling to fill your chest,
Expanding outward and as you exhale release any self-judgment or criticism.
Just let it drift away like a cloud in the sky.
Continue this cycle of breathing in compassion and exhaling self-judgment.
Now visualize a warm golden light surrounding you.
This light represents peace,
Relaxation and self-acceptance.
As you breathe in imagine this light growing brighter and filling your entire being and as you breathe out visualize any lingering stress or attention leaving your body.
Picture it dissipating into the air,
Making room for this warm light to settle into every part of you.
Silently repeat to yourself,
I am enough,
I am worthy of rest and relaxation,
I give myself permission to be present.
And feel the truth of these words resonate within you.
Slowly start coming back to your body.
Notice the surface beneath you,
The contact of your body with this surface beneath you.
Slowly becoming aware of your breath and the movement of your body.
And when you feel ready open your eyes if they were closed and again become aware of your external environment.
And now simply celebrate yourself for taking the time to sit,
Be silent and heal.
