Deep Sleep | Humming Breath Meditation For Insomnia
by Pascal Herth
Slow your breath, soften your body, and let the resonance of your own voice guide you toward sleep. This meditation uses slow, extended exhales and soft humming to release the tension of the day and settle into deeper relaxation. As you hum on the exhale, feel the vibration moving through your body. Research suggests that slow, controlled breathing can influence the autonomic nervous system, increase vagally mediated heart rate variability (HRV), and support parasympathetic regulation. Humming adds a soothing anchor. This practice draws on our understanding of breath, the vagus nerve, and autonomic regulation - without forcing relaxation or a particular state. A simple practice for deep sleep, insomnia, racing thoughts, and nighttime relaxation. Practice lying in bed or in any comfortable seated position. Simply breathe, hum, feel, and let go.
