Please join me in a comfortable position,
Allowing your body to find its ease and its center here.
This practice is called Earth Love,
And we're going to begin bringing some love and kindness practice into our meditation,
Into the body and mind,
And extending this practice of love and kindness to creatures,
Beings,
Animals,
Other species,
Other elements on this planet.
May this practice bring you happiness,
Belonging,
Relief.
Let's begin with a moment of quiet coming into focus on your own meditation practice.
Right now feeling the body and the weight that's holding you in the gentle grasp of gravity,
The firmness that's holding you in place.
Feeling the body as a physical entity,
The skin,
The bones,
Blood,
The hair,
The teeth.
This body connected to Earth body.
And in this connection with Earth body,
I invite you to think of one of your favorite,
Most cherished parts of nature.
Whether that's the birds chirping,
Trees moving in the wind,
The gentle bubbling of a creek.
And bring this into the center of your practice now,
Right into the heart.
Sitting here with this cherished memory of nature in the body.
Any amount of distraction or difficulty is just fine to encounter here,
And you don't need to get rid of it or pretend to feel any differently.
I invite you to see if there's a way to connect this feeling with a metaphor from nature.
It could be a strong wind,
A gust,
A storm.
It could be a deep forest.
Please just sitting here now with this feeling of Earth in your heart,
Beginning with love right here in the body.
I invite you to bring the awareness to the outreaches of your energy,
The edges of the felt sense of your body.
Even extending into your energy around you,
Into the space that's holding you right now.
Here you are showing up as a human being,
As part of this Earth.
And I invite you to bring the sense of love,
Love of creation,
Love of your natural self,
To bring that right here and to allow it to fill up the room.

You might feel yourself interact with other Earth elements around you.
The wood in the walls,
The light filtering in through a window.
Expanding your sense of love of creation and this natural being that you are into the space beyond this room,
Beyond this structure or building,
Outside.
Connect your natural being with the greater natural world around you.
Allowing your sense of self to take up more than just this space,
To really extend,
Opening your heart to the natural world as far as you can conceive.
Touching on jungles and forests,
Great rivers,
Cloud formations that cover vast spaces of the sky,
Winds that sweep far across the land.

I want to invite you to connect specifically with an animal or a part of nature,
Any living being that you want to directly share this love with.
It could be deer in a meadow,
It could be an elephant.
You might think of your favorite place,
Somewhere you feel connected to.
And allow your love to flow naturally from you outward into this being and all types of this being that exists on this planet right now.
All right.
Both giving and receiving love.
And sitting here right now on this planet Earth with this real felt sense of love,
Of creation that flows in and out of us and connects us in a deep sense of belonging on this planet.
