This was lovely. The first journal entry you shared sounded like something I could have written (albeit far less eloquently!), so it resonated deeply. I think this will be a session that I’ll revisit repeatedly; hopefully I’ll get to a place where I might not only be able to write something akin to your second entry, but also believe the words and, further, live/model them!

Hi! Listening to your journal entry was like listening to my own thoughts. So many of your thoughts and struggles are mine. I also have religious trauma which has led me to hide my authentic self. I left (escaped) the church many years ago but still working through the trauma of it all. Toxic family member still reeks havoc. I chose to set boundaries and that has been the most loving action I have done for myself. Listening to your love and compassion for yourself allows me to love and have compassion for myself. Thank you for sharing your deepest thoughts and loving words.
