Snippets of Wisdom Stop Bullying Yourself Speak Love We don't want to acknowledge it,

But we can be bullies.

Not to others,

Maybe,

But to ourselves.

I often have a conversation with myself that I would never have with anyone else.

I belittle myself,

Condemn,

Complain,

And judge myself.

My words are hurtful and painful.

Yet I keep doing it.

I'm a mean old bully to me.

Since I've been working on being nicer to myself,

I wrote this in my journal.

Stop bullying yourself with your own thoughts.

Be nice.

Play nice.

Speak love into you.

I'm very forgetful,

So I wanted to keep this as a reminder to be nicer to me.

Isn't it crazy that we need to remind ourselves to love ourselves?

You'd think that would come naturally.

But listening to my clients lets me know that many of us struggle with self-love.

What I've found that helps is to make lists in my journal about my positive aspects,

Things I love about myself,

And what I appreciate about who I am.

If I stay aligned with thoughts that feel good about me,

I know I'm aligned with what my inner being knows,

Thinks,

And feels about me.

When I get sideways and focus on my flaws,

The negative emotion immediately indicates I'm contradicting my inner being.

As soon as I start feeling bad,

It's time to shift back into a search for my innate goodness.

It may take me a while,

But I always find it.

I like to keep those journal entries marked so I can return to these words of love and encouragement to myself when I need a pick-me-up.

Today,

I encourage you to journal about your positive aspects.

What do you appreciate about who you are and are becoming?

What loving things can you find about yourself that you can praise?

Hint,

You'll find your goodness easily when you look for it frequently.

Another way to enjoy self-love is to practice daily meditation and listen to any other snippet of wisdom.

Every day that you practice self-love is a day without being a bully to you.

To your practice in self-love,

Big Hugs,

Marianne
